Brian Kelly, was he not a coaching option at one point???

Imagine what could have been if we would have brought in Brian Kelly instead of Chezzick, granted the Big 12 is 100x tougher then Big East, and he took over for a decently competative team. Don't get me wrong I love where we r heading now with CPR but I would have traded Bk for Chizi any day.....

He would have went 5-19 and bolted for Auburn.

I asked the question in another thread but isn't it true that Kelly was unresponsive to Pollard? Also, I would love'd to have seen BK do something here but I think CPR will get good results if we're patient and he won't bolt.

Saying that you would not like to have Brian Kelly as head coach is like saying you would rather have Austin Arnaud at QB over Robert Griffin. Literally makes 0 logical sense.

**I am no way saying I am unhappy with CPR. I love the guy ****

I don't know about the Pollard thing, but I would have traded 2 years with BK for 2 years with Chizi any day.
Also as I said CRP is defineately who I want here now...

    1. Hindsight is 20/20.
    2. No one has a clue if he could have mustered the same success here has he's had in Cincinnati.

Re: Brian Kelly, was he not a coaching option at one point???

The worry about Kelly was that he would of bolted at the first sign of success and didn't generate much excitement.

In hindsight, I guess we should have hired Kelly instead of Chizik. But would Kelly have been able to bring in the talent that Gene Chizik did in his short tenure here? Also, Paul Rhoads would not be head coach now.

If the Michigan job ever opens again, he will bolt.

Re: Brian Kelly, was he not a coaching option at one point???

Who's really to say that he takes the players that Chizik inherited and runs wild like he is right now? I don't think there's anywhere near a guarantee of that.

It's really like the way some Iowa fans used to cry that they "could've had Bob Stoops," while Ferentz was rebuilding their program.

Since we are an elite team now, let's go get that One Cyclone Moment.
Make this one for the ages!

You have to remember that he walked into a talented team. It wasn't just him going there, he made very good use of the good talent that he already had.

My point is that it wasn't a Chiz/BK "choice" by Pollard if what I heard was correct any more than it was a Chiz/Harbaugh choice.

Anyway, I'm perfectly content with CPR.

    Of course.

His first game coached there was a bowl game for crying out loud!
