This is the exact same thing that 'almost' cost Iowa against UNI.

The sick part is, this HS game was after UNI vs. Iowa, how did the HS coach not notice that?

Wow, what a terrible way to lose.....but the holder picked up the ball while still on his knee - wouldn't that still down the ball?

You beat me to it. I just watched the clip again and in the third/clearer reply you could clearly see that the holder was still on his knee when he picked up the ball. It should have been blown dead at that point.

The opposing coach thought that the refs jobbed them, and "after further review".....they did.

CBS should look to hire these announcers

    Still a pretty cool ending.

I think that the bigger problem is the color of those Jerseys...

No. There is an exemption on the knee down for holders. Otherwise the ball would be considered down before a kicker can kick it. The holder must stand up and then put a knee down to down it.

This is true for the kick itself, but after the block it is considered a live ball. Any player that possesses a live ball for with a knee down is considered down at the time of the touch.
