Nice pickup. He is our 3rd HS OL commit. Having a full class of 4 to 5 HS OL recruits is a huge key to this class, as we have been really low on HS OL recruits the last 2 years. Looks like we are on the way to filling the pipeline back up with this class!

That "helper" dude must be ESL. But, didn't like this comment: "I talk to him few days ago. He said he may go to Iowa State but if any other team want him. They will pay for his college. They said if he go to Iowa State and play really good. He will make the NFL. I hope he make it."

I agree. I like our current OL and they are young for the most part, but the staff really needs to start getting some underclassmen ready to take over in a few years. Burris will be a starter next year and Tuftee and Lichtenburg are nice prospects (if Tuftee comes back from this injury), but that's about all they have other than walk-ons. Getting 1-2 HS OLs per year like they did the last few is a good way to lose all momentum and take a whole team to the crapper. Just ask McCarney. You NEED 3-5 HS OLs per season. 3 minimum if you have maybe a TE or DL that could end up moving over.

Even right now, we're on shaky ground due to limited OL recruiting recently. Next year, they lose Lamaak and Alvarez. Who steps in there? You can't expect OLs to be able to contribute until their 3rd year (RS Soph). Tuftee COULD have a career ending injury, Haughton COULD flunk out at any time. All of a sudden, there's no depth except for RS FR. That's scary and the main reason why you need to continually stock the pipeline so there's a fresh group of RS Sophs every year.

That being said, I think that the staff is doing the right thing here. Gannon, Farniok, Dika...these are good solid OLs that will come in and work and be ready to go in a few years. The staff hasn't been able to prove that they can evaluate OLs at all (Lichtenburg was originally a Chizik guy), so this is their first shot. These kids have very limited offers, so we'll see if Bliel can spot talent as well as he's been coaching it.

    Re: new OL commit

By the way....to the OP...can you edit your post and spell his name right. It's Shaban Dika. I'm not usually the grammar police, but I think we should at least get the kid's name right.

What about Hayworth Hicks? I know he was going to start at LG before the ineligibility. How does he fit into there?

While on live TV, Ford used a vulgar term to describe a private part of the female anatomy, adding that he was “happily married” and “got more than enough to eat at home.”
