    My top 10

    1. Alabama (I think Florida will have a hard time scoring against their D)
    2. Texas (I think they mop up on OU this weekend)
    3. Florida
    4. Virginia Tech
    5. Cinncinati
    6. USC
    7. Ohio St
    8. LSU
    9. Miami (FL)
    10. Nebraska

This appears to be the weakest top 10 in recent memory IMO. The top 3 are really good and after that...not so good

Two ways to look at it. Weak top 10 or parity in CFB has taken over. I think somewhere in between.

    1) Florida

    5) Cinncinati
    6) Boise State
    7) USC
    8) Miami (FL)
    9) Ohio State
    10)LSU/TCU

That's not all that weak of a Top 10, IMO. The only teams in it w/losses lost to other teams that are in it. I think that Cinncinati/USF game is going to be very interesting Thursday night. The Big East isn't any where near as bad as people give it credit for, but the winner of that game has a pretty good chance to finish unbeaten. At some point Iowa is going to have be in here assuming they kept winning.

    Re: My top 10

I think parity is really settling in in CFB. Almost any team is capable of beating any other team (say, in the same Conference tier) if a few bounces go their way.

All the more reason for small (4 teams?) playoff at the end of the year, imo.

We'll see about Texas. They have yet to play anybody, but they will get opportunities to shine against OU and (potentially) the Big XII North champ.

Also... everybody realizes that USC's loss came on the road, against their Offensive (Sarkisian) and Defensive (Holt) Coordinators from the previous years, in a game where their starting QB (Barkley) was injured and did not play, right? Their backup (Corp) looked absolutely horrible and has, in fact, been demoted to 3rd string. It was an absolute perfect storm.

    Florida would beat Texas.

I guess its a good thing for the Florida offense that they will only need 10 points to beat Bama in Atlanta.

I agree. I ranked Texas higher though b/c I don't see them losing and I see Bama beating Florida at this point

Agree this is a very weak year for college football. I keep looking at teams like Ohio State, Iowa, Kansas, USC, and many other thinking they are overrated. Then you look at everyone else and they are all probably ranked where they should be.

I am putting Kansas at 9 and Iowa at 10. Only because we almost beat KU and that is the only reason. I want to say we almost beat a top 10 team.

I do not see any way that Bama beats Florida...not with Tebow. Saban's calling card is throwing an opposing QB off with a slew of blitzes coming from every angle. It works great against a team that has a QB that sits back in the pocket. I think Tebow's ability to just tuck it in and run it up the gut really neutralizes all of Saban's exotic blitz packages.

Florida's defense is superb. Their offensive line and running game are outstanding. They have a QB that will probably go down as the best college FB player of all time. The only semi-flaw they have is that their perimeter speed on offense is not superior...better than the vast majority of teams in CFB but not as elite as it has been. Lastly, they are a seasoned team...they have been in a lot of big games. Florida wins.

I cheer for two teams, Iowa State and whoever is playing the hawkeyes.

    Cincinnati, to the spelling challenged.

Also, Kansas should be in the top 5.

Wow, I hope that's sarcasm (though I don't know why it would be....)

Kansas is no where NEAR one of the best TEN teams in the country, let alone top 5.

Agreed, according to Rivals.com were #89 out of 120, and almost beat Kansas on the road. And you want them in the Top 5?? Just wait til next year, Reesing gone, Meier gone, and Briscoe might have a shot to leave early.
