    Start worrying about Colorado

Dan Hawkins says Cody will NOT start for the rest of the season. Now I am worried about them.

I don't know how he can afford to keep a Heisman contender out of games.

    Re: Start worrying about Colorado

I assume that like so many other teams in college football* their backup QB will quickly become a heisman front-runner?

*I know some of us were guilty of that for awhile, hopefully yesterday was a turning point for AA and the backup QB talk can be put to rest...

Well if he is beating out THE Cody Hawkins I would say he is the Heisman front-runner.

Please don't compare AA to Cody Hawkins. AA doesn't think he is Peyton Manning and he makes way better decisions.

That's not what I was doing at all, I was just generalizing that fanbases always think their backup is the second coming when the starter is struggling, and unfortunately we did see some of that talk here recently.

Did you just see it on tv or something, or do you have a LINK? I'd like to see what ol' Dan has to say about it. Is he sending Cody down to the intramurals team?

    Cody Hawkins Heisman Run Over

Colorado Buffaloes coach Dan Hawkins benches QB son Cody Hawkins after nine interceptions - ESPN

Dang. I was very impressed with Hansen last season at Boulder though.

As bad as Cody is he lit up ISU last year after coming off the bench. Now that is sad.

Dan is fairly safe - Colorado athletics has no money and could not afford to buy out his contract. I think the athletic department still owes the university money it "borrowed" to get rid of Barnet.

Nobody is totally safe... if you start weighing lost revenues of keeping him there vs the cost of canning him, then the decision gets a bit easier.
