Not to be greedy or anything, but dang, if only ISU had been able to close out the Drake and KU games, the team would be sitting 17-12 right now and in great shape for a NIT bid. Here's hoping we can knock off TT on Saturday night and win at least one in the conference tournament to finish .500 or better.
Last year we went 16-14 (6-10). Personnally, I was just hoping that with what happened after last off-season and all the players we lost, that we'd win 5 conference games. Hats off to GMac, he turned our non-existant Defense into our strongest game. I can't wait to see what this off-season does to our team, we're on a one way ticket upwards Boys!
Yeah but considering all the talent we lost, we should be estatic with this record. I think last years team only won 15 games and we had Stinson and Blaylock? Hat's off to GMac.
Not complaining mind you, just indulging in a little wishful thinking. You are right though all-in-all this team did about as well as can be expected. With a win over TT on Saturday they would match last season's record of 16-14 WITHOUT Stinson or Blaylock.
Drake deserved to win but if we could have hit a free throw against Kansas, that would have been a huge win for us on several levels. Maybe we could have won a couple more conference games from having a little more confidence. I'd be pleased with two more wins.
