ISU will go bowling this season

    Mark it down.

We just gave what may be the best team in the Big 12 north all they could handle in their house on homecoming. With the passing game clicking, ISU is a very solid team.

    Wins:

    Baylor
    Colorado

    Toss-ups:

    OSU
    TAMU
    MU
    NU

    Loss:

That's right, there isn't a game left on the schedule that we can't win. We will pull off a victory in one of those 4 toss-up games.

    Go Cyclones!

We're gonna get smoked in Lincoln, otherwise I agree with you.

If we only get one "shock the world" game this year, I will be happy to win in Lincoln. Otherwise I think that is our least likely one to win if Dez Bryant can't play for OSU. After yesterday, I am scared to death to watch our D against them with Bryant.

I thought the same thing about Lawrence. I still have little confidence in winning in Lincoln but I don't think we'll get smoked. Our Oline has been really good this year and if Robinson can keep going I think we can stay in most games. Of course this all goes out the window if Arnaud has another game like Iowa.

KU will get smoked by Nebraska and probably lose a close game to Missouri. I don't consider those toss ups.

I hope you are right. Nebraska in Lincoln will be tough. As will Mizzou.

Nebraska in Lincoln is tough, no matter what. I think our running game can keep us in that game, and I'm not sure how impressive the Huskers are offensively.

Re: ISU will go bowling this season

Unfortunately, Iowa State's margin of error is almost zero. Offensively yesterday they played without any turnovers and few if any penalties. That makes those toss up games extremely difficult to win. Combine that with Iowa State's inability to make plays down the stretch, and I just don't see a bowl game in their future this year.

A win against KSU and I would have likely agreed with you. But, turnovers and the lack of Robinson took care of that.

I don't think we've won in Lincoln since Jimmy Carter was President and we've had some pretty damn good football teams since then that couldn't win in Lincoln. I just don't see it in the cards this year. Suh will slow down our run game a little bit, and Nebraska just doesn't lose in Lincoln very often.

Did you forget ISU lost to the 2nd worse team in the North?

    1978 for us. It's been a while.

But, the whole point is to believe that there's a chance. What's the point of watching an assumed defeat, and giving up early?

Re: ISU will go bowling this season

I thought Kansas was a barely average team before we played them. I still think that.

As far as homecoming goes, you know who doesn't give a crap about homecoming? College football players.

If we go to a bowl, it will be further proof that there are far, far too many bowls. It means nothing to go to a bowl any more.

It's like 10 win seasons. People talk about them all the time, "Their first 10-win season since..."

That's great, but there only used to be 11 games, so the accomplishment is diminished.

It pains me to say it, but NEBRASKA is easily the best team in the north.

We would have beat them with a healthy ARob, and would have easily beat them had the passing game been clicking like it was yesterday.

I guess I should have clarified, I am saying all of this based on the assumption that the passing game is on track, and stays that way. If the passing game goes back into the tank, we might not win another game.
