Cyclones of the Week: Kansas Game

Time to vote on our Cyclones of the Week.

I say we could give it to Arnaud or A-Rob on offense. Austen finally broke out of his slump and looked like the quarterback we knew we had. Having said that, I'm going to give me vote to AROB due to the toughness he showed. We know that he wasn't 100 percent but the guy gutted it out and I love that.

On defense, Jesse Smith gets my vote.

    What do you guys think?

Ya its hard not to give it to Arob... AA played very sound and didnt turn the ball over but Arob's physical and mental toughness was insane..AROB

On D Jesse Smith once again was a tackling machine and cam up with a pick.. (sucks that the o couldnt score off of it)

Iowa State: Anyone who's a true college basketball fan needs to see a game at Hilton Coliseum. Nice is in the DNA of Iowans and the fans here are particularly gracious -- even when the home team loses but gives a great effort, they are appreciative.

ESPN.com picked Hilton Coliseum as the "Hot Arena" in the Big 12...coaches in the league noted that, "regardless of talent, the Cyclones have a home court like no other."

Agreed. Smith and Robinson. Robinson not even 100% but a career high 157 yds rushing

ARob was a beast yesterday. Also scared the hell out of every Cyclone fan when he took a knock to the cajones - everyone thought he pulled that groin again when he was grasping it...

Please tell me, who do you think has a better offensive line? Those guys are good. they are huge and mobile. They are disciplined. Every single one of them is performing well. Catlett is playing well and improving.

I was also impressed with KSU's O-line. Coach Rhoads said in his press conference last monday they had the best line we have faced so far this year. I thought that was coach speak to motivate the defense. But they looked to be as good as anyone we have faced so far.

I know this isn't the popular choice but my vote goes to the offensive line, and if I had to single out one player, it would be Reggie.

Defensively I would have to say no one this week.

Kinda harsh on the defense? Obviously, as a team, it was a very rough week for the defense, but you could have Mike Singletary at MLB, and it may not have helped- one man could play his butt off and play extremely well, but if the other 10 are subpar, it wouldn't help.

Offense- TIE- Austin Arnaud and Alexander Robinson

    Defense- Jesse Smith

Jesse Smith also had the misfortune of covering Kerry Meier for much of the game. The dude is a tackling machine, to be sure, but he leaves a lot to be desired in pass coverage. It was sickening watching Kansas complete 15-yard passes to Meier all day long.

Re: Cyclones of the Week: Kansas Game

No doubt AROB and Jesse Smith.

Our O-Line continues to impress, but then again this was probably the worst game our O-Line has played all year. That's not saying they played poorly, it just so happens the Kansas D was able to get some pressure on AA, moreso than any previous opponent.

Reggie is an animal. Anyone excited for Reggie vs. Suh in a couple weeks? Should be quite the test for him.
