    basement bar

I'm getting ready to tile an area for a small bar in my finished basement.

It'll be a wet bar with a couple of stools that I want to be on the tile, the carpet starting right in back of that.

At the moment I was going to tile out ~ 8 feet ... from the far wall.

so it would go counter (2ft?) space (3ft?) bar (1.5 ft?) extra for seating (1.5ft?)

Anyone have this type of setup? I'm beginning to think the bar width should match the back counter width and maybe I need more room for the bar stools.

So basically, I'd be looking for approximately how far it would be from wall to the back leg of the bar stool.

I would match the bar depth to the back counter depth (2'). I would also consider 3' for the stools, although that may depend on if your bar will have knee space under it... so by this, you might consider adding 2' for a total of 10'-0" to your tiled space. Make sense?

Having a galley kitchen, you'll want 2' for each counter, about 4' inside the bar area, and leave yourself at least 3' for the chairs as you'll probably want a foot rest on the bar, plus when people scoot back in the stool to stand up, you'll want it to be on the tile still.

Thanks ... I'm going to end up with 9' 1" so hopefully I can make up the difference somewhere.
