    Moral Victory?

    Is there such a thing?
I've never believed much in such a thing but a few things today really stuck out to me.Mainly the body language and attitudes of our players near the end of the game.
But my question is....do you believe in moral victories in sports?
I didn't really until today(a lose is a lose)but I can see where a game like today could really become a positive.

Excessive intake of alcohol, we all know, kills brain cells, but naturally it attacks the slowest and weakest brain cells first. In this way regular consumption of beer eliminates the weaker brain cells, making the brain a faster and more efficient machine. That's why you always feel smarter after a few beers.

    Re: Moral Victory?

We're past the point of moral victories IMO. We've had so many close calls, gut wrenching moments that I can't be happy with any loss anymore.

I'm proud of our guys for the effort and for fighting til the end but it's still a loss and our bowl hopes are fading by the week.

    Re: Moral Victory?

No such thing. Hate the idea.

It's good to look at positives, but there is no such thing.

Was it encouraging to see our offense click? Heck yes. Do I think it'll happen again this year in this capacity? No.
Glad to see that it is possible, though, I suppose.

    Re: Moral Victory?

No moral victory if you are actually apart of the team. Should never be satisfied with losing.

As fans we can be excited for some things we saw in a loss, so it is ok not to be devistated.

    Re: Moral Victory?

Regardless if this was a moral victory, at least we know we can play well enough to beat some big 12 teams. We just need to capitalize.

I'll always defer to someone like you who actually played for ISU and I don't know how the players are feeling right now. But I, for one, really like how this team keeps fighting when behind in the fourth quarter. When they went up by two scores we were able to get back to having the ball with a chance to win. I liked that!!!

There are not moral victories in D1 college football. And actually there aren't in peewees either.

    Re: Moral Victory?

The offense played most of the game like a winning team...the defense however was murdered by Kansas's offense.

    Re: Moral Victory?

I have a feeling if ISU can finish one of these games it will lead to great things. 0-2 in the Big 12, the losses by a combined 6 pts.

    Re: Moral Victory?

No moral victories but the offense has to take some positives out of this. The defense knew they would have thier hands full and we just dont have personnel to get around it.
