Re: Most Annoying word or phrase

I get so annoyed when someone uses "hubby" or "wifey" in normal conversation. I could never marry someone who called me "hubby." It would drive me crazy.

You feel the floor give you a little tingle, man, Iowa State junior point guard Monte Morris said in a private moment after the game, leaning against a wall in the bowels of Hilton Coliseum. You feel it. You feel it. Its real. You feel it on the court. Its a tough feeling to explain. Its a vibration. It gets you going.

    He paused.

    Its magic.

I hate when people use "LOL" in spoken conversation, as if to say, "That is funny enough that I think an audible laugh is worthy, but that's not what I'm doing."

Would you rather be called ducky, wimp, fatso, slovenly, clod, weiney or ***** instead? There are worst things to be called.

I have a friend from college who's been married 32 years who refers to his wife as "mother". That creeps all of my friends and my wife out.

Any texting abbreviation spoken aloud is annoying but I really am irked by LOL because if you meant it, you would just ******* laugh like a normal human being.

Re: Most Annoying word or phrase

Not exactly a word or phrase, but listening to someone who can't get through a single sentence without saying "like" or "uhhh" every third word just makes me cringe.

My wife's (college age) cousin is unbearable to be around in this context.

"Like, we went to this like coffee shop, and the flavors were like so awesome"

    But otherwise -I'd say "literally".

Somehow they are often used in conjunction.

"It was like literally the end of the world"

    Yeah... it really wasn't.

    Nice thread resurrrection!

I hate "whatever" so much it's ridiculous. I told my daughter she gets an immediate week grounding from me if she utters it.

Also: epic and irregardless are horrible
