[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dGoF3h9iQ5Y&feature=player_embedded&fmt=18]YouTube - Special Needs Student Beaten by Illinois police over dress code[/ame]

I am sure they has to be more to this story but the video is pretty clear cut on the actions of the people involved.

Typical cop on a power trip. I would love to watch him get his butt beat and laugh at him the whole time.

    Absolutely horrible!

I have an autistic brother who unlike most kids with autism is able to drive. He once got pulled over by a cop who then proceeded to pull a gun on him, cuff him, throw him on the ground, and then tow his car at 9 oclock at night leaving him there without a car.

I still say that it is a good thing he didn't call me to go pick him up because I would have gone to jail that night. My younger brother got there, and then my dad. The cop was at a gas station and when my dad went up to talk to him all the cop could say was "get a lawyer." Cops like that, who are on a power trip, give bad names to other cops

This cop has earned prison time. Now way in hell you can do that and call it "procedure". It's assault and he needs to be arrested.

Re: Officer Attacks Special Needs Student

I currently work for a non-profit that works with adults with developmental disabilities. Not quite the same as a kid with a learning disability but close enough. So, watching that video kind of hit me hard, although I had already read about it.

So, I am completely serious when I write that I hope that thug posing as an officer of the law gets some serious jailtime and unwillingly makes some new special friends during shower time. As for cops in general, I know there are some good ones and genuinely good guys in uniform, but I have heard too many horror stories for me not to beleive that at least a substantial minority would be criminals themselves if they weren't wearing a badge. I think this video is Exhibit A for that theory.

For every video like this there are probably hundreds of videos of cops just doing their job, but those don't get a million views on Digg or Youtube.

While you are right with your statement, the fact remains the cop in question here should never be able to carry a badge again.

Heh, this cop sounds like he spits this one out pretty often...
