    ISU vs. Tulsa (2012-2013).... Arrowhead??

Instead of playing Big 12 games at neutral sites, would anyone here be opposed to playing the 2012-2013 series with Tulsa at Arrowhead Stadium??

    Not a bad idea.

Play 'em at home. I don't really like the whole idea of neutral site games, unless of course, it's a bowl game.

Re: ISU vs. Tulsa (2012-2013).... Arrowhead??

The KState game is the proper choice for Arrowhead if we are going to do it. That place one only half full for that game, and I'm guessing based on how much whining there was on this board about the location, people would be even less likely to travel to see a game against the all mighty Tulsa.

Re: ISU vs. Tulsa (2012-2013).... Arrowhead??

Attendance would be even less at an ISU-Tulsa matchup in KC than what we saw last weekend against KSU. Seems that the consensus for most people here was that the neutral site idea was kind of a bomb, despite the paycheck we're getting. Unless next year's game with KSU sees higher attendance and fewer complaints (doubtful), I'm not so sure the AD would make that move again.

Re: ISU vs. Tulsa (2012-2013).... Arrowhead??

The only reason the Chiefs were on board for this is because the two schools were so close. Tulsa only averaged 24,368 last year at home. They're not going to bring too many to KC, over 5 hours away. Not worth the bother.

About the only schools we should play at Arrowhead are SEC shools or USC. Anyone else only if we play a home-neutral series where we get a home game.

That begs another question: what do the Chiefs think of the attendance last Saturday?
After all, they're paying out $3.6 mil to the two schools. I doubt they're doing cartwheels...

    Yes, Great idea.

    (1) in Ames
    (1) in Arrowhead

==>If Tulsa and the KC Chiefs go for it. The KC Chiefs would probably rather see KU, MU, or KSU. Being closer to KC, they have more fans in the KC area and could probably sell more tickets. But on the other hand, KSU did not sell very many more tickets than ISU.

Great idea if it could fly.

Re: ISU vs. Tulsa (2012-2013).... Arrowhead??

Not Tulsa, as noted, the attendance would be horrible. I really do like playing a conference foe there, so in about 8-10 years it would be nice to see a trade with another Big 12 team held there.

If it's a nonconference game like the 2002 FSU game, I'm in favor of that too.

Another option would be to move the 2011 Home game with Texas to Dallas?

Yeap, that's what I thought. Bad Idea. It's going to be great to KO Texas at Home in Ames.

Not a big enough game to give up home field and I don't think I would pay $30-50 for a ticket, $150 for a hotel room, $100 gas, $100 in food & beer to travel to KC to watch us play Tulsa. Florida St. was great, K-state was OK, but Tulsa?...I'll pass.

Yes, but I would bet there would be more total fans there from ISU than if it was a home and home.

    I'm on Twitter too: Tre4ISU

Give Rhoads 2 or 3 years to upgrade the program and I could get excited about a contest with Arkansas in Arrowhead.
