    Going to Baton Rouge

Just got a call from a buddy of mine. Has two tickets to the Florida-LSU game. Flying out tomorrow. I'm not usually one to get on here and brag, but I CAN'T WAIT.

Been there, done that. Great college gameday atmosphere. The rest of Baton Rouge sux, but the tailgating and game are worth the trip.

Interesting, I had a friend from down here go to Des Moines for the Track & Field Nationals a year ago and he told me that "Des Moines sux".

See you tomorrow night SuperCy...a couple of quick things, all LSU fans (which you had better be tomorrow night) are being asked to wear gold and it is likely going to be a wet one...you better bring your rain gear.

I cheer for two teams, Iowa State and whoever is playing the hawkeyes.

Do I break down and by LSU gear or wear the I State stuff that I packed? BTW, my buddy got these through Home Depot, so we get a behind the scenes tour of Game Day and get to meet the guys.

    Re: Going to Baton Rouge

I drove through Baton Rouge once and specifically remember how glad I was I did not live there. But hey; maybe it is fine. I mean driving through Cedar Rapids I could see how someone would not think highly but CR is a really great place to live...

I'm curious as to your thoughts about your LSU gameday experience.

What did you think of the tailgating (they estimated from aerial photos that over 180,000 people were on campus for the festivities prior to the game)?

What did you think of the pregame festivities inside the stadium? Hopefully you were in your seat 45 minutes to an hour before gametime and got to experience it all.

What did you think of the game atmosphere? It's really too bad you didn't see a game where the LSU team gave the crowd something to really cheer about.

As for the game, LSU is going to have to heal their collective feet for all of the bullet holes they put into them while shooting themselves in the foot. As I have previously opined, LSU's weaknesses in both lines was evident last night. Florida's line play (especially the O-line) was very strong. Tebow can be defined in just one simple word..."winner". Florida's defense, as expected, is tremendous. Their offense is quite good as well but their speed on the perimeter is not as great as it has been for the last couple of years. I will be surprised if Florida does not end the season as the undefeated National Champion. Assuming Alabama does not stub its toe, I expect the real National Championship game to be in Atlanta in early December...they will just be calling it the SEC Championship.

I cheer for two teams, Iowa State and whoever is playing the hawkeyes.

I purchased an LSU hoodie and an LSU tshirt at the bookstore on campus while I was there and wore those.

I did wear ISU gear in the LSU weightroom and caught crap for it.
