Yahoo music bloggers are now an authority on whether or not punk is dead? That is laughable at best.

Isn't it funny how nothing is as good as it used to be? As people age they always talk about how life used to be better. I for one like television.

Now that MBB is back, do we still have to pretend that WBB matters?

Punk isn't dead, it evolved. Most of the music I listen to I call punk simply because it wouldn't be around if it weren't for the "classic" punk bands, not because it sounds like The Ramones.

I'd love to hear about how punk rock is not dead. You're not a Yahoo blogger, tell me what I should be listening to. I dig The Hives but really, are they not a Scandinavian Buzzcocks wannabe band?

Re: Yes: punk rock is long dead.

I hate to say this because I love everything about this genre but punk was mainstream in the 80's too, the Ramones had videos on MTV. Even though it is too mainstream now, u just have to search hard for the good punk out there, to me to find good ones now u have to find a good label ex. Fat wreck(Lawrence Arms, Dillinger Four, Dead to Me, American Steel)

I'd say Dropkick Murphys is Irish Punk and they pretty much rule! Follow that up with NOFX and then you have Millencolin, The Vandals, Rancid, Lagwagon...

How about Billy Talent, Emanuel, Rise Against, The Used, Tsunami Bomb... are they punk?
