Maybe he actually is a good coach?

Looks like he made the transition to head coach by hiring a good support staff.

    Re: More accolades for Chizik

It really had less to do with Chizik and more to do with the coordinators he hired. He took a risk and hired sub par assistant coaches. Realized it after the 2nd year, and jumped ship before he corrected it.

I will submit that if he would have cared about ISU as much as CPR does, he would have taken the time to get the right coaches instead of his pals.

It's a lot easier to win with those assistants, the talent he inherited there, and the Auburn name.

    Re: More accolades for Chizik

Think he has shown he can be a good head coach with some talent around. He is lucky he got that shot and didn't have to rebuild a program before he got his dream job like most have to do in one or two places before they get a job like that. I say good for him and good luck to him.

I thought the McFarland hire was a good hire at the time... I think we are now seeing that it might have been a VERY GOOD hire... Bolt on the other hand...

I would agree with you but for the fact that he has yet to find another job, and is still in Ames killing time.

    Re: More accolades for Chizik

I still think they will lose @ Arkansas, @LSU, Mississippi, @Georgia and Alabama. Auburn does not tolerate 7 or 8 wins FWIW.
