More justice possible for Hawkeye Pierce?

Turns out Jerry Crawford represented Pierce's first of numerous victimes in Iowa City. Jerry, as an owner of the new NBDDL team in Des Moines would be pretty unlikely to hire the pervert. How bout them hawks?

I imagine Jon Miller will avoid this topic just like he did Bab's murder of the puppy.

Good Point, I do not remember hearing him talk about that. But if it was an ISU player, that would have been a 2 day show, with every black/gold bib overall wearer calling in.

Re: More justice possible for Hawkeye Pierce?

    Question...

I think both of ya have stated you felt Jon's show wasn't worth much and you don't listen often.

So...if you don't listen often, how can ya talk about what he has/hasn't discussed on air.

I haven't been able to listen much over the last week or two, so I have no idea if it was brought up. Although I thought I read a thread like this and he responded stating he in fact had discussed it on air. I can't recall if it was on CF or somewhere else.

I'm glad Pierre won't have much of a chance to play for the DSM team. He made his bed, time to sleep in it.

I listen to it for the entertainment value. I have NEVER said I did not listen to him or would boycott him.

He gets me all reved up and upset, but that is what keeps me listening. I have always said, "You can not have a good rivalry without Hatred"

Re: More justice possible for Hawkeye Pierce?

Just like from the Howard Stern movie. When they are discussing ratings that the average stern lover listens so many hours cause they want to hear what he says next, then the stern haters listened even longer for the same reason. I always thought that was funny.

Same can probably be said about M&M cyclone fans listen just to hear what he is complaining about now lol

Re: More justice possible for Hawkeye Pierce?

Actually ISUFan22, I think that Jon Miller said that he didn't feel it was necessary to bring up that incident because he'd have to discuss Cato's incident or something of that ilk. I'll see if I can find the thread..

EDIT:: Found it, ISUFan22, Here's the Thread

Re: More justice possible for Hawkeye Pierce?

It's always been that way. Miller tries to come on here, and be the great uniter, but when it comes down to it he is a big Hawk fan we all know that.

Had Reggie Hayward have killed the dog, he would have talked about it. But since it was a former Iowa player, I am sure that the dog was about to attack a defensless baby.

Pierre Pierce is an interesting case though, he abused a woman, and deserves to burn in the bowels of hell. While a former Cyclone coach abused a woman, and that was OK, how dare you bring it up. He is the best guy ever.

Pierre deserves to have learned more about the crime of rape over the past two years than a sociologist doing their doctoral thesis on the effects of sexual assault.

Re: More justice possible for Hawkeye Pierce?

And for the Clone fan out there that is just bent that I havent talked about Babineaux's dog....I haven't brought up Jamal Tinsley's affairs, nor Kevin Cato's.
So it seems Jon takes a stance of not talking about this stuff on his show - I assume partly because they're no longer in the state.

I think it's something that should be talked about on air yet seems he's being consistent.

Even if Crawford wasn't affiliated with the DSM team, it would be unwise for them or any Iowa basketball program to have Pierce on the team. Many residents of the state truly hate him and it would only hurt whatever program he's affiliated with.

If/when he gets yet another chance, it's best if it's nowhere near Iowa.

Re: More justice possible for Hawkeye Pierce?

You're right, it does seem as if he dodges things, but I don't really think yelling at/hitting a bartender (I think that's what Tinsley's was) is as bad as beating a puppy to death. I just would rather Jon talk about all of these incidents if people would want to hear about their schools' former players (good/bad/ugly), I'm always kind of interested in that stuff. To me, it seems that too many Hawk fans compare Pierce to Berryman and then Jon saying Babs to Tinsley(Rape *2 > Petty Theft and in a bar underage; and then Beating a dog > Bar fight.) At least a human being can defend themselves... The way it seems to me is that too many Hawk fans hear about ISU's "thugs" and hold their noses in the air since no one talks about Iowa Players' violent crimes near as much as a petty theft or bar brawl. Just my two cents though.

I hear ya. Part of me thinks it should be discussed and the other part of me doesn't even want to hear about that type of crap - regardless of what team they played for.

Did Jon talk about the Tinsley? This happened about the same time.

Edit: Sorry, see this was posted above. Cross posting with a phone call in between.

Re: More justice possible for Hawkeye Pierce?

ISUfan22: Jon said in an earlier thread he wasn't talking about Babs or Tinsley's recent troubles. It was really odd that he equated taking a life, even a dog's life, with bar problems. Typical hawk arrogance, I guess.

Oh please...I wish I had a jump-to-conclusions mat like the one you must have. It's gotta be pretty special.
