    Washer Dryer recommendations

Lowe's doesn't charge for delivery and will deliver anyplace in the Continental US so I'm leaning towards purchasing a washer and dryer from them.

Any other companies offer free delivery for washer dryers anyplace in the US?

Is there any particular manufacturer or model that I should be purchasing?

We have LG front loaders, so far so good. They do a good job and are pretty quiet. Had a maytag neptune before them, what a horrible POS those are.

Had our washer fixed a few months ago and the repair man said all washers are made of the same parts, no matter what brand. Buy what options you want at the best price for you. We have an elcheepo dryer and it works great for going on 10 years, knock on wood.

We've got the old style Maytags and have had them over 10 years with zero problems. That technology was 50 years old and well proven. The newer stuff isn't.

Not sure what I'd go for now.

Check out Consumer Reports. Great reference.

We have LG high efficiency front loaders and we love them.

LG has a direct drive motor on their wash machines. No belts. Check out the review and ratings on a site like Best Buy.com.

We bought from Home Depot. They had a limited time offer of free delivery and 10% of any purchase a while back. Otherwise, I would have bought from Lowe's as well. They had a better price if it wasn't for the 10% at HD.

Got a Whirlpool frontload about year and a half ago. No problems, so far. I just have a basic dryer, as it'll do the same job.

Ditto on the front load Frigidaire. Uses much less water than a top-loading washer and actually gets the soap out! For months, we;d throw towels, rugs, comforters in with no soap and they'd still suds up like crazy.
