    Why not go for 2?

Why not go for 2? If you gto for 2 the game rests entirely in YOUR hands! Its YOUR offense! our defense was a joke against K-State! leave it up to the Offense! Let the chips fall wear they may! Besides, ISU's kicking woes are NOTORIOUS the last 10 years or better!

He was 45 of 45 going into that blocked kick.
If we went for 2 and failed, could you imagine the meltdown????
This is a mute topic and will get nowhere.

Because we would not have converted and you would have had to post a thread titled "Why not gor for 1?"

Because 99/100 you make that PAT and ISU had the momentum.

why is taking your chances at OT better than taking your chances at a 2 point conversion?

I don't think you should ever go for 2 at the end unless you are a major underdog and think it is your best shot. It either ends up great or horribly wrong.

Re: Why not gor for 2?

Going for 2 you only get 1 play to score, if you go to OT barring any major setbacks you get more chances to score, though I am sure you knew that.....Easy call, not one that should be debated in a conference game or unless like the poster above said, you are a big underdog.

Re: Why not gor for 2?

I made a sarcastic post in the Game thread at the time saying "go for 2".

    The right decision was made.
We should be discussing OT strategies...not this.

Re: Why not gor for 2?

The 2007 NCAA average for two point conversions was .421. Is Iowa State's offense in it's current state, and without A-Rob, able to beat that percentage? Probably not. I'd rather go into OT with a far superior kicker. Our chance of winning would be better than .421.

Re: Why not gor for 2?

First off, the defense did not play bad. They had a couple of short fields and had problems at the beginning adjusting to a new QB. Second, you are not the coach, thank GOD.
