Henson Notches 1,000th Kill As Cyclones Win 3-0
LUBBOCK, Texas – Victoria Henson had 14 kills to become the eighth player in school history to record 1,000 career kills as Iowa State earned a 3-0 (25-15, 25-14, 25-17) sweep of Texas Tech Wednesday night at United Spirit Arena.
Henson posted six kills in the third set to reach the milestone. She is the fastest player in school history to reach the mark, accomplishing the feat in her 80th career match.
The Cyclones (11-3, 3-2 Big 12) hit .362 and held the Red Raiders (2-10, 0-3) to a .069 hitting efficiency.
Rachel Hockaday was second on the team with 12 kills for her third-straight match in double figures. The Cyclones held a nine to four edge in blocks.
