    ISU Heckeling

I was just watching the Nebraska/Oklahoma volleyball match and the announcers were interviewing Sherri Cole (wbb coach) and they were commenting on how the Sooner basketball girls that were attending the match couldn't wait for the teams to switch sides so that they could continue to heckle the Nebraska servers. Then she goes on to say that "it would be just like going up north to ISU." Then she said that "only we dont have a 'guy in a yellow jacket' here."

Wild Bill defienitely wasn't the only one heckling all season. BUt that is kind of cool he gets a shout out. Sucks that he won't be back anymore.. We'll hold up his tradition though.

Didn't he "train" a replacement that was going to be just like him?

Actually, we do! Wxman1 is correct; Wild Bill brought his apparent replacement to the last few games of the season and showed him the ropes. The new guy is no Wild Bill, but he's also about 45 years younger, so he's got time to get his game on and keep Wild Bill's tradition alive!

I also remember a game with Kansas when Cy (wore a huge suit then) went out to center field, squatted, and "pooped" a couple of chickens that had been dyed blue then chased them around.

He 'resigned'. He decided not to get season tickets this year. Ostensibly, the reason was finances- that the recession was hitting him too hard and he needed to cut back. There were a few nasty rumors that the Athletics administration basically forced him out, but I don't remember if any substantial testimony came out of that.

Hell I would of bought the man tickets... he's been a fixture at WBB games before most of us realized there was a team.

one of the reasons people thought there was more to this than meets the eye... but not much point dredging this back up again.... it is what it is at this point.

Iowa State: Anyone who's a true college basketball fan needs to see a game at Hilton Coliseum. Nice is in the DNA of Iowans and the fans here are particularly gracious -- even when the home team loses but gives a great effort, they are appreciative.

ESPN.com picked Hilton Coliseum as the "Hot Arena" in the Big 12...coaches in the league noted that, "regardless of talent, the Cyclones have a home court like no other."

I think it is cool that we are thought of in that way
