    Re: Any Given Sunday

I didn't mind it so much, mostly because I didn't go into watching the movie expecting it was going to be an Academy Award winner just because Oliver Stone directed it. It's not in my top 100 favorite movies, maybe not even in my top 250. But it's a movie about football, which is good enough for mindless entertainment for me.

What is that supposed to mean? Personnel attack? Sarcasm? Please enlighten me!

I thought this is a place I can rant a little along with everybody else!

IMO, it is a horrible movie. Just b/c you don't agree with me does not mean that I am an idiot, it just means you like bad movies!

Perhaps since so far you're the only one that thinks it's a horrible movie, maybe it says something more about you...

    Re: Any Given Sunday

I think it is probably so incredibly real that some people don't like it. I think it is probably pretty sccurate as far as the real football world just like "Playmakers" was on ESPN (I think that was the name) That show was so real that the NFL made them take it off the air or they threatened to pull games from them.

    I'm on Twitter too: Tre4ISU

    Or so I have read.

I'm not a big fan, but it is entertaining.

And this is one of the best sports movie speeches out there.

I was pretty disappointed with it. Of course it has been a long time since I saw it.

I like the movie, but Cameron Diaz is horrible in it. She should never have been cast in that role.

For starters, the cop-out ending. The movie had so many negative elements that having everything turn out rosy was not how it was setting itself up. Secondly, Oliver Stone is more than predictable with the over-the-top, in-your-face symbolism. The billboards, the way the players come out like soldiers. I get it, Oliver. Now quit trying to out-clever yourself. Also, all the 2 second, shaky scenes make Cloverfield and Blair Witch seem steady. The best scenes are when people yelled at each other.

The film has a contradictory narrative, many scenes are so shaky and loud that I was vomiting from the seizure I was thrown into, and the length of the film would even annoy the most patient of Buddhist monk.

I'm 100% sure that if I wrote a compelling analysis in favor of the movie, that you wouldn't be so snotty in your childish response.

As for "I was talking to Tank", I didn't know that there was some type of proper etiquette for responding on a public forum. Apparently I should have PM'ed you and Tank and ask for permission to join a open thread.
