Where would Houston fit in to the BCS?

If they managed to run the table, the would've beaten 2 pretty good Big 12 teams(TTech & Okie State) and an SEC team albeit arugably the worst one (Miss St.).

Well the fact that Miss St. just missed beating LSU which is ranked 4th either the SEC is loaded or there are worse teams ( kentucky) than MSU

Sorry, I can't add anything to the BCS projection, but how about projections on Head Coach Kevin Sumlin? Man, he's got to be the hottest coaching ticket in line for a major program offer.

He had assistant stints at Oklahoma and Tex A&M and Purdue (his Alma Mater)

Re: Where would Houston fit in to the BCS?

I think they would have to stay behind Boise if Boise does what I think they will do. If Boise wins out without being challenged and there is only one or no undefeated teams I don't think you can keep them out of the NC. Houston is behind them right now in my opinion. I don't think Tech is that good and I don't know that Okie State is what we thought they were. Oregon on the other hand handled Cal who was supposed to be a contender.

Re: Where would Houston fit in to the BCS?

Houston's chances of an at-large are gone if TCU beats BYU. Either TCU or Boise St. will make the at-large, assuming Texas and Florida/Bama go undefeated and play in the title game. If Texas/Florida/Bama lose a game then we could see some crazy championship scenarios...

What if our nightmare comes true Iowa wins out plays Boise st in the title game and shuts them out.

    Wow that would suck

Boise State won't make the title game even if they win the rest of their games.

Furthermore I can guarantee you that none of the teams from the Big 10 will be playing in this season's BCS championship game.

Boise St. has an easy schedule from here on out and their 5th place ranking in the AP will help them the rest of the year. LSU will not finish undefeated and Bama and Florida will have a loss between them assuming they play in the SEC Championship, so that leaves one SEC school and Texas standing in Boise's way of the title. The only thing that could hinder Boise's chances would be the fact that they don't play a championship game in the WAC.

I thought the nightmare scenario was Iowa vs. Auburn.

This is why we need a playoff.

TCU still needs to beat Utah also and Utah has had TCU's number

Re: Where would Houston fit in to the BCS?

I think both Boise St and TCU are going to have to lose in order for Houston to get the nod (assuming they do run the table). Houston may be more deserving, but Boise St will likely already be rated in the BCS top 10 when the first BCS poll comes out (which as everyone knows, being rated high in the first poll is half the battle), not to mention they have already beaten a very good Oregon team. TCU has the benefit of playing in the Mountain West, which most consider a conference generally of BCS strength.

Like I said, Houston may be more deserving, but they're going to have to take care of their own and hope that both Boise St and TCU go down.

I don't think Houston has that problem anymore after getting beat by UTEP. Boise St. sure didn't look very good vs a 1AA team in UC Davis and TCU struggled at times vs SMU. I think Boise has the eaisest road to make the BCS but TCU would have better wins if TCU can win out

If Texas and Florida run the table, you're right. Oh wait, that's what everyone expected to happen anyway. The real question is does Florida still get in after they get beat at LSU this coming Saturday? Texas also faces their last real challenge whenever they play Oklahoma, as the Big 12 has been anything but impressive this year.

Style points don't matter. If Boise wins out, they'll get an at-large bid.
