    Re: Sound System

Last night I thought it was exceptionally quiet and distorted. Even more so than usual.

    Re: Sound System

I wouldn't think this would be an extremely tough or expensive fix.

I bet it's very expensive, but would be a great investment. Painful.

    Re: Sound System

It seemed to me that they turned the volume down on the "Saturday Night" video to avoid some of the distortion that's happend the first two games, but it still sounded bad to me.

    Re: Sound System

I was going to open a thread on this as well. To me its sounds like they have blown a speaker. So they turn it down to compensate the distortion. I got a comment from a neighbor that took his first trip to JT and said it was great except it sounded like a highschool football game sound system. I told him that it was not the way it normally sounds etc...That needs to get fixed before anything else in the stadium. The sound and video system is one of the main components of College football. I am sure someone has an idea of how much it would cost to fix. I am not talking about replacing it (like the southendzone project would call for, but just make it so you can hear it properly....:(((((

    Re: Sound System

Sitting in the North end of the stadium we could barely hear anythung being said and a lot of the time heard nothing. The current sound system is beyond pathetic.

    Re: Sound System

It has been broken all season, how have they not fixed this yet?

Well they have plenty of time to fix it, three weeks before the next home game.

Someone on this board has to know the answer to whether we are getting it fixed. I can't see how they could leave it.
when did we purchase that system?

    Re: Sound System

They've blown at least one of the main woofers or have crossed some +/- wires somewhere. I noticed it at the NDSU game, I surprised they've let it go this long. Truly cringe inducing.

I think the "new" videoboard cost us 2 million in 2002. Just to replace the speakers I could see it costing $500,000

    Re: Sound System

    Yes, its pretty bad now..

However, considering it would probably cost a lot, and we're probably going to have to replace the A\V setup when we can get together enough money to do the south bowl, would it be a wise investment?
