    Special Teams

One thing that is really helping this team is the special taems. From returns, to a punter that can boom the ball, to a FG kicker that can hit kicks from 50 yards. The way they have been playing they could help the team win games down the road instead hurt the team like in the past. It has been a long since we have had ST that can change the game for the better.

I agree. We have a game changing punter, and I was just looking at the stats, and Mahoney is 3/3 from less than 40, 1/2 from 40-49 and 2/3 from 50+. That's pretty impressive, and changes the game as well.

    Re: Special Teams

Being surprised when Mahoney missed the field goal was nice. It wasn't the surprise that I'd want, but the fact that it was surprising was nice.

Since we are an elite team now, let's go get that One Cyclone Moment.
Make this one for the ages!

Let's hope Mahoney's miss isn't the start of a bad spell.

I love our ST coverage. They do an excellent job of bottling in the runner and eliminating the chance of a big return (both punts and kicks)

    Re: Special Teams

Special teams used to be what cost us games. Poor field position, poor coverage on kicks and punts, and poor field goal kicking. It is now a strong point. I like it.
