    Congrats to Coach Herman

For really getting what we are good at this year.... pounding the ball on the ground.

He said all along he was going to do what was best for this group of players, which is clearly running the ball.

It is obvious the passing game is no where close to worth chucking the ball all over the field. Hopefully it can be called upon time to time as the season goes on. No doubt will we improve in that area of the game if we can find a QB who can toss the ball.

Ill take 200 yards on the ground per game anyday.

If we can continue to put 200+ yards on the ground each game, I like our chances on having a winning season.

Of course it only gets tougher from here out...

It does make him seem like an intelligent coach, with this whole "utilizing players according to what they do well" idea.

Good point on the statement he would do whats best for the team. I have to be honest, I'm a little nervous about entering the Big 12 with an anemic passing attack. The big 12 will have bigger faster and stronger DB's than wht we've seen so far. Iowa looks to be a real team and we turned it over 6 times.

Alexander Robinson is clearly our best player on this team. He needs to touch the ball 25+ times a game. I have never seen that burst of speed from him on that long TD run. He really turned it up a notch today and throughout the whole season. I'm pleased with Herman's offense right now, as long as he doesn't run any options on the 1 yard line.

Well, we did run an option from the two today for a TD. Close.

Sorry, should have included on fourth down with only :01 second left in the game.

Yup. We should get a pretty good idea next week whether or not ISU's running attack can be successful in the Big 12.

Where was the passing game unsatisfactory tonight? Specifically, including his ability to freaking pound the ball for yards between the tackles, what was unsatisfactory about AA tonight aside from throwing ahead of receivers? Which, by the way, BB claimed on the radio broadcast was because the receivers were NOT getting any separation from the d-backs in their short/intermediate routes.

I'm sure Coach Herman appreciates your brilliant observations, and I'm sure Austin Arnaud appreciates your anonomous criticism.

    Re: Congrats to Coach Herman

Austen played a great game. But it is fair to say he has struggled quite a bit throwing the ball this year. He has shown he can make throws in the past with a good stable of receivers and he will do it again.

No need to get your tighty whiteys in a bunch boys... we had a good win tonight!

I would love to see him get more looks through the air, maybe some swing passes to get the ball in space... Ideally, 23 carries and 5 catches would be great!

Barely, but that's probably what they would say about us.

If we don't turn the ball over next week, I think we have a very good chance of winning soundly.
