    I 80 Construction Army Game

Looks to me like the DOT still has crews working on resurfacing 80, at least as of this morning. Just thought I'd remind everyone what happened last time, and to plan accordingly.

Anyone want to call the DOT and make sure the appropriate post game lanes will be open Saturday night?

I want to destroy the person/people that decided it would be a good idea to do this construction during rush hour.

Oh please let me remember this on the way home. I can't explain how miserable that was a few weeks ago for anyone who missed it.

While on live TV, Ford used a vulgar term to describe a private part of the female anatomy, adding that he was “happily married” and “got more than enough to eat at home.”

Absolutely. Being parked on I-80 in the middle of the night after that day was rough.

Yep, I'll let them know to shut it down and send all their workers home. No problem.

At very least they could use the giant electronic signs to tell people that there is going to be major construction on I-80w pulling things down to 1 lane. That wouldve given many, including me, the notification they needed to take I-235 instead and get through des moines in 10 minutes instead of an hour.

Re: I 80 Construction Army Game

Checked the DOT Website. Seems that the night time road work is going on until September 30. Lanes are reduced to two lanes. Not sure how the weather will change this. To be safe take HWY 69 to Ankeny(but also has road construction) Down to one lane. HWY 17 to HWY 141 towards DSM is a good possibility. Seems a longer route but shorter time if I80 is the same as last night game. Be careful

Re: I 80 Construction Army Game

They had it down to one lane the night of the home opener. I heard rumors that the cops/State Troopers showed up and forced them to open up a second lane. Can anyone confirm?

Either way, yes, large signs warning of the upcoming construction would have been nice. And even with 2 lanes open, as randall suggested would be the case, it shouldn't be too bad. One lane was horrific, though.

Not sure on this, but it may not be a problem this time around. That was a week night. I don't think the crews work Friday or Saturday nights.

I80 around Mitchelville, Colfax, and Newton have had road maintenance all week. I don't think it'll be a problem tomorrow night, but I haven't been on the west side of 35 for a while to know if they're working over there or not.

    How wonderfully out of place.

You might want to duck the banstick that is about to swing your way.
