    ABC Football Saturday Night

I cannot believe that PSU/iowa is the best game they can come up with for the Saturday night contest this Saturday...pathetic...two lousy Big 10 teams.

I cheer for two teams, Iowa State and whoever is playing the hawkeyes.

No matter what you say, those two teams aren't exactly lousy....either that or we got trounced by a lousy team...

I think they are remembering how Penn State played terrible last year at Kinnick and Iowa got the big upset and are hoping the hawks could do the same thing this year. I don't see them getting the job done but I bet that is what they are looking for. Whats on ABC means nothing to me though because I'll be watching the important game.

It's a good game. I have no problem with the prime time spot. In fact, I wish I could watch it but I will be at JTS :)

As much as I hate to admit it, the only game that would be better than this is the VA Tech vs Miami game. I will be out at halftime watching this game and tailgating...then returning in time for the 2nd half kick

Outside of V-Tech/Miami, what game do you think deserves the time slot?

No other game deserves that spot. Having said that, why is VaTech v/ Miami not the main game on abc? I think Miami is back to form.

    Re: ABC Football Saturday Night

Other games on the ESPN networks this Saturday...

    MSU vs. Wisconsin
    Indiana vs. Michigan
    USF vs. FSU
    Pitt vs. NC State
    Miami vs. VT
    Illinois vs. Ohio St.
    Cal vs. Oregon
    Florida vs. Kentucky
    Notre Dame vs. Purdue
    TX Tech vs. Houston

I'm unsure whether they had any others available that ended up on other networks, but of the ones listed above the only other one that might do well in primetime would be Miami/VT.

Here's my question: what's the point of the Big Ten Network if all of the Big Ten games are on ESPN?

Whether you like it or not, iowa beating Penn St. on Daniel Murray's kick with all the fans rushing the field was one of the defineable moments of last season.

It's a white out in Happy Valley, which is reason enough to show it on ABC, but the whole "revenge" factor adds to it. ABC made the right choice.

Are you kidding me? If ISU was in the Big Ten OR the Big Twelve had a network comparable to the Big Ten Network, ISU Football and Basketball would ALWAYS be on television.... I will always give the Big Ten props for their development of the Big Ten Network. Meanwhile... We're stuck on ESPN360 and Clonezone....

I wish I could watch this game as well but I will have to depend on the scoreboard updates @ Jack Trice. I actually think Iowa will be in this game and the play of Stanzi will determine if they come out on top or not, the UI D is a very good squad IMO.

    Re: ABC Football Saturday Night

You've blinded by your absurd hatred if you don't think last year's Iowa/PSU game wasn't a great college game. It was hard fought, the Greene-out section (and the rest of Kinnick) looked great at night, and it came down to the wire.

I know the Big 10 doesn't compare to your glorious SEC, but PSU has a good team with a smart/talented quarterback and a strong defense as always.

Ferentz has done well against PSU over the years and its been documented that the Lions are out for blood after what happened last year in Iowa City. Revenge games like this are what make college football so exciting.

I'm fine with Iowa getting whooped on national TV.

    I agree with you.

What I'm asking is why more of the Big Ten games aren't on BTN this week. Nearly half of the games on the ESPN empire this week are Big Ten games. Five out of six games in the conference. I could understand two or maybe even three, but five out of six?

EDIT -- OK, granted: the Big 12 games this week aren't going to attract huge numbers of viewers. Aren't there any other decent games going on though? I'm honestly asking because I haven't looked.

And just to be clear, I think Iowa/Penn St. is a good choice for ABC primetime.
