    Army Questions

Hey Fanatics...I am doing an interview with an Army expert in the morning. I thought I'd give you the opportunity to post questions you'd like me to ask him. In return, I will post the Q&A here on the site.

    Fire away.

    Re: Army Questions

How do you think Army's run game will impact the blitzing we bring on defense?

    Re: Army Questions

    Are you interviewing Coach Ellerson....?

If so, I would like ask if he feels it's hard to recruit at a Military Academy...?

How would he compare the talent he gets now to the talent he was able to get at (FCS) Cal Poly...?

I'd like to know if Army will try to throw more with 7-8 Cyclones in the box?

1.) How hard is it to recruit WR's to a triple option team ;)

Now that MBB is back, do we still have to pretend that WBB matters?

    Re: Army Questions

Do their players get to spend as much time dedicated to football as other college football programs considerring all of the other obligations they have?

Do they have primary recruiting areas like most college programs or do they pretty much recruit all over the country?

Who is the best player in in Army football history?

    Re: Army Questions

Does Army run a true Triple Option or are the plays pre-determined, with the option only on the pitch.....?

There probably wasn't time or space to ask/answer these, so I'll chime in.

We recruit the entire country. Each assistant coach is assigned several states (or a geographical region) as their primary area of responsibility. Below is a map showing the hometowns of players on our 2009 roster (excluding one listed fro Germany and one from American Samoa).

Any discussion of the identity of the best player in Army football history would start with the first two of our three Heisman Trophy winners: Felix "Doc" Blanchard and Glenn Davis. There are plenty of other possibilities, including Heisman winner Pete Dawkins, one one of the other 20 Army players in the College Football Hall of Fame.

How does that work - not so much the Samoan, but the German? Or is he from a U.S. base in Germany?

    Re: Army Questions

Army has a History of playing Big 12 teams very tough, do they use that as motivation coming into Ames?

    '08 - Lost to @Texas AM 17-21
    '06 - Lost to Texas AM 24-28
    '06 - Won @ Baylor 27-20
'05 - Lost Iowa State 21-28 (this was one of ISU's best teams).

==>As a Cyclone Fan, I'm a little nervous after seeing this History.

Should qualify that and say Big 12 teams near the bottom of the conference(with the exception of ISU of course.)

    Re: Army Questions

I have one (beat Navy will know why).

    Ask him this:

    "How's the cow"

That is it. Simply ask "How's the cow".

If he is a West Pointer his answer should floor you.
