I love the post calling JP an "evil genious"! That's how most Hawk fans view JP....they hate him, but know he is a great AD, which makes them hate him even more.

    I LOVE IT!

    Best quotes:

you KNOW they're going to fill the stadium. Pollard is an evil genius.
Evil Genius... I kinda like that

And props to a Hawk fan who actually had an intelligent thought:

we diminish the hawks' accomplishments against isu by reflexively referring to the cyclones as hicks and dirtbags. the "cyclone state" billboard was annoying--cheesey even--but the only adversary worth beating is a respected one.

that's why i like "evil genius." it shows respect for isu's excellence at being cheesey.

Someone needs to tell the Iowa fans this:

IT ISN"T ABOUT YOU!!!!!! IT ISN'T!! IT JUST ISN"T!!

It is about money. It is about economics. It is about needed rennovations. It is about ISU and ISU fans.

    So once again:

IT ISN"T ABOUT YOU, IOWA FANS!! SO QUIT THINKING IT IS!!

All I see in those posts is ARROGANCE and FEAR! Let'm talk while we walk the walk. I got my season tickets and am ready for my Saturday ventures out of "hawkeye" country (North Liberty) and on to Ames- the finest "hick" school in the country.

Re: Hawks react to $90 tickets.

WHAT DO YOU MEAN THIS ISN'T ABOUT THEM??? These are the same guys that consider these personal attacks by the refs on not only their teams, but on themselves personally:

-An Iowa B-ball player jumping on a guy's back and piggy-backing him in the lane being called a foul

-An O-lineman dragging an opponent to the ground with one hand clearly grasping the jersey and the other hand clearly grasping the facemask, dragging him to the ground, and sitting on his chest until well after the whistle is blown as a simple holding call

-Not getting accepted to a New Years' Day bowl game on their 6-6 record (after all, it IS their birthright)

-Iowa not getting accepted to the Big Dance this year.

Typical Iowa whining. I've learned to apply to Iowa fans' whining what I learned to do against my parents when they were once again lecturing me - let it go in one ear and out the other.

Re: Hawks react to $90 tickets.

the reason why they're complaining about the tix prices is b/c they didn't think of it first. And it's not an elite game on their schedule b/c THEY SAY it's not an elite game.

For those smuckeye fans claiming that they'd only pay $90 for OSU or Mich and not ISU...hey genius, that's the whole point! We want ISU fans in the seats, not smuck fans.

Evil genious.... I like that! ISUfan22, you may have to loan your avator to Jamie for awhile.

Re: Hawks react to $90 tickets.

I find this topic from a hawkeye's perspective to be a sense of fear. At the beginning of this whole ordeal, all you heard were ISU fans complaining of the ticket price increase. Cyclone fans have had the luxery of stable prices with minimal price increase. And now at a time of growth and great expectations, with not a lot of people wanting to put the money out there to support it.

Now the Iowa fans are beginning to feel the shockwaves of JP's genious "evil doings". One thing Iowa fans could always count on was the mediocracy from the ISU faithfuls. Instate talent, national exposure, and financial backing all went to the support of U of I athletics. But for once ISU is taking over. Sure Iowa still grabbed most of the state recruits this season, but we get our share, and hopefully with more to come. The Iowa vs ISU games are televised not just because of the success of the iowa program, but because of ISU as well. And now a game that all Iowa fans expected to get is taken away. There one chance to try and come over to our place and harass the possible embaressment that the cyclones may endure is stripped from their very hands. For once, ISU is putting their foot down and saying hey, this isnt about you any more. Its about the cardinal and gold, and the tradition of ISU football. We are growing, and with the work of our "evil genious" we will again thrive on the defeat of our arched rival.

So those reactions from Hawkeye fans are just the fears that they no longer dominate this state. The Cyclone is rolling through.

Re: Hawks react to $90 tickets.

I've already heard complaining from some friends and family members. My simple question was "did you buy tickets in 2005 to the game in Ames?. Did you buy tickets two years prior to that game? " Of course the answer was "no" and my point was that the people complaining the loudest are those that A) have never been to an Iowa/ISU game in Ames and B) never plan on attending a game in Ames. So my response was get over yourself. It doesn't even effect you. I think this pertains to a lot of the "disgusted" Iowa fans.

Re: Hawks react to $90 tickets.

Why are Iowa fans complaining? They sell out their football stadium every Saturday without needing any gimmicks. They have a healthy thing going over there, so if they don't want to pay $90, sit home and watch.
