    Vilsack to drop out.

    http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/17297085/

This didn't last long. The question will be why and did he get enough exposure for a V.P. chance or some other cabinet possibility.

I don't know the key to success, but the key to failure is trying to please everyone.

Oh man thats too bad, would have been nice to see an iowa figure compete in the race. And i've meet Vilsack and talked to him, so it would have been nice to say i have met the president before.

I'm sure fundraising has alot to do with it. There's no way anyone can compete with the kind of money that Clinton and Obama are raising.

I've always heard that he was running for VP, so this is most likely all part of his plan.

There is no question this is from his inability to compete financially. The real question is why did he or his camp think he ever had any chance in the first place. Maybe they didn't and it was just to get his name out there?

    Re: Vilsack to drop out.

When I was in high school, I went to a leadership conference with Tom Vilsak as the guest speaker. I have never been more bored in my life...
If he does anything else in politics, I hope it is behind the scenes so I don't have to hear him.

    Re: Vilsack to drop out.

Did he actually think he had a chance? I mean I'm in South Carolina right now and half the people here think we farm Potatoes for God's sake. So no one has heard of him. He needs to get way more exposure before he runs for Prez...maybe try the Senate or House or something.

    Re: Vilsack to drop out.

    One word: Obama

I'm surprised he joined the race so soon seeing as how he didn't have the funds of the others, I don't understand why he didn't join in later, and then look to join up with someone to be VP?

I just hope whoever you vote for can spell "sarcasm". God knows Bush can't. :)

Funny, but if you didn't vote for Bush then you probably voted for Kerry. Guess who got better grades while in College?? No sarcasm needed.

    Re: Vilsack to drop out.

I don't think he has any better shot at the VP spot than he did at Pres. He doesn't add anything to the ticket. He is unknown nationally, doesn't address any regional issues (read south). He is done unless he decides to run for a senate seat in the future.

He adds a potential win in the Iowa caucus which we all know is a HUGE deal. Most other states usually vote for the winner of the Iowa or New Hampshire caucus. And if they are the same person, you may as well hand them the nomination.

Vilsack has a lot to add. And this is all coming from a Republican.

Obama and Edwards would be a good combo
