    Todd Haley Steals CPR Play

Chiefs drive down on Raiders, kick FG for 3-0 lead. Haley has Chiefs try on-side kick that fails and gives Raiders the ball at the 40.

Made no sense for ISU, makes no sense today to do that in the first quarter.

At least Chiefs are up against Russell -- terrible.

Never understood how coaches are willing to do this... but wont go for a 4th and 4 or go for two more often.

Your scenario above is what's maddening to me, as well.

I agree. Converting a 4th and short I would think would be a much higher percentage decision than trying to catch the opposing team napping with an on-side kick.

For that matter, when was the last time we saw a fake field goal? Its been awhile. I think we ran a fake punt last year that was horribly executed.

If by horribly executed, you mean Brandtner threw a nice pass to Catlett or Mansfield and got us a first down against Kansas State.

I'm remembering one where Jason Scales took a direct snap and ran right into the pile or something like that. Could be wrong.

I think I remember the Brandtner one now, though. Thanks.
