    Did we burn blankenship's RS?

can't say i understand that call. i hope he is a special teams star, otherwise this was a serious waste and now we will have two RBs in the same class in schwartz and BB.

Yeah, I'm surprised we burned both Klein and Knott's too. And Jeremy Reeves.

All have played a lot in every game this season...

    Nobody 'burned' a RS tonight.

Blankenship might be used more if Shwartz doesn't hold on to the ball better

And we have won as many games through tonight as we won all year. If the guy is ready to play we should have him in there. What would we be saving anybody for right now. Lets get some W's this year and some people learning how to win before we start worrying about burning a red shirt

re: Did we burn blankenship's RS?

blankenship I would question, but the defensive players need to get out there and play all they can. Even though the ISU defense is not very good, they have a ton of seniors and thier backups need to get some playing time.

Re: Did we burn blankenship's RS?

I'm not a big fan of redshirting guys like a BB. He may turn out to be fantastic, but the odds are that he will be just a good player. Right now we need as good of players as we can put on the field everywhere including ST. If we can put a guy on ST that does a good job then fantastic. It just isn't likely that he will be a future star. Now, if he was just a good running back but wasn't very good on ST that would be a different story but he must be serviceable. At this point at ISU, when we get three or four star guys, I think they need to be seeing playing time. If nothing else, at least they get some experience.

On another note, Is Bo really that bad, I didn't hear his name.

Bo is either hurt, in trouble, or yes... he is indeed that bad. If he didn't get in tonight.... he probably will never get in this year.

You want your best players on the field. Who knows PR may not even be coach here in 4 years.

Re: Did we burn blankenship's RS?

we didn't burn Blankenship's RS, Reeves, Klein, or Knott's, but on cyclones.com in the participation report it shows that #69 Kyle Lichtenberg's RS was burned tonight. Do not know if this is accurate, but I don't think it was the right move if so. He is a freshman offensive lineman from Bettendorf and if I remember correctly is only 6'5 260 or something. Use the redshirt year to put on some muscle/pounds on this guy.

Any answers on this?????? Is this true?????

You would at least think we would see him on special teams. I just don't know why we haven't heard anything on him. Man, I really expected him to contribute. I hope he's not that bad but at the same time that would be the norm. We get lucky and get a four star talent and he turns out to suck.

Re: Did we burn blankenship's RS?

We need a lot of d line help going forward. Are there any OL that can switch to the other side?

As far as Bo goes, he may not see the field this year. He has a lot of improving to do.

I cannot believe it took that long for someone to comment on that. I hope he is, I hope he doenst get ran out of town. But he does have to do what it takes to win as soon as he can, if it means burning a few redshirts along the way so be it. The way it looks Blankenship could be the #2 RB for the next 2 years. It is important to have your backup ready and know he can do the job, there is only one way to know for sure.
