Twins Fans....a couple of questions for discussion.

Who will finish the season with the most homeruns for the Twins?

    Morneau (30), Mauer (28), Cuddyer (28), or Kubel (23)?

Who will finish with the most RBI's besides Morneau (100)?

    Mauer (88), Cuddyer (83) or Kubel (86)?

Also, do you think Cuddyer should move back to 3rd base next year to solve the outfielder problem?

Just a couple things to discuss.

I think Cuddyer has stated in the past that he is not comfortable playing third base.

Do the Twins resign O. Cabrera and Pavano after this year?

I say yes. Both are a big reason why the Twins are still in it.

I think they have to try and sign cabrera. They also need to sign Mauer or else its going to be Santana all over again

Re: Twins Fans....a couple of questions for discussion.

Cuddyer seems to have put this team on his back lately. I think he'll hit the most HR's. Based on lineup order, I'd guess Kubel will end up with the most RBI's

Definitely need Cabrera back, he's solidified the infield and the #2 spot in the lineup!

I like what Pavano has done this year, but he is injury prone, so if they don't keep him, but pick up another veteran starting pitcher I'll be OK. If we keep Pavano, I'll be OK with that too. I just don't want to lose Pavano and not get anybody else.

Cuddyer will probably never go back to 3B except in an emergency due as much as anything with him finally admitting to the team that he is completely deaf in his left ear. It makes it very hard to pick up all of the infield communication.

As good as Mauer and Morneau are, I've always considered Cuddyer to be the leader on the team. He occupies the coveted corner locker previously occupied by Kirby and then passed on to Torii. It's basically been reserved for the leader of the clubhouse.

That is Cabrera's line since coming to the Twins, hardly what I would call solidifying the lineup(and his defense is merely average as well). I'd much rather have an Akinori Iwamura or Mark Derosa, Orlando Hudson type.

To get back to the topic at hand, I think Cuddyer will tie.

Re: Twins Fans....a couple of questions for discussion.

I would like to see them Cabrera again. I think he could be good for players like Casilla and Gomez, but I don't want to see him hit in the no. 2 spot anymore. I wish Casilla could get back to his 2008 level of play and put him there.

I think they should sign Pavano. It is not likely they will be able to afford any other free agent, he has pitched well, and seems to pretty much have the Tigers number at least. Plus I like how he usually works out of jams. The younger pitchers could learn something there if they watch.

If Liriano, Slowey, and Perkins all come back healthy next year, the competition for starting spots could be very interesting in the Spring. I'm guessing Perkins may be traded, maybe Blackburn or Liriano too. It will be an interesting off-season. Signing Mauer long-term is a must or Bill Smith can just leave the state of Minnesota.

Mauer will get a new deal this off-season. The kid from St. Paul is staying put in the Twin Cities. If he leaves it would be worse than losing Santana and Hunter multiplied by 1000.

Liriano will be in the bull pen next year. They could have a really nice pen with Nathan, Guerrier, Mijares, Rauch, Crain (now that he's good again), Neshek (if he recovers). Liriano would add another lefty and a long reliever.

Bonser will be back too probably, unless he is traded. Not sure where he would fit in if at all. Plus, you have Duensing and Swarzak (he was good for a while) to consider. It will be an interesting Spring Training.

I'll bet Morneau doesn't hit another one this year....

Where have you heard that? I've seen nothing official there and mostly just message board musings. My bet is we see Liriano get another chance to start next season before a permanent move to the pen is issued. The Twins biggest weakness is the lack of true #1 pitcher, with Liriano you at least have the potential there, with pretty much the all of the rest you have solid #3's/4's but no real chance at them becoming an ace.
