    Another DM Rag mistake?

I wish I had brought my paper home from work after hearing the 5pm segment on Marty and Miller today. Apparantly the Rag had a front page photo that is causing a lot of controversy. I have not seen the picture but apparently the stir is a picture of the wrestling tournament and the cheerleaders expressions and where their eyes are looking at. I'm going to have to look at the paper on my desk when I get in tomorrow morning to see if for myself but boy was Marty taking it to Marc Hansen!

Anyone see the picture and can comment?

    EDIT by ISUFan22

    Here is the photo...

I looked at the paper this morning and did not think anything about it, until I heard them talking on the show on the way home from work. When I got home I showed my wife and she did not think anything about it. Marty will say anything to make people call the show, it drives the ratings.

It's not a huge deal, but it's a little tasteless.

When I first saw it earlier today, I thought the same thing M&M are talking about. It made me chuckle, but I doubt it was intentional.

    Re: Another DM Rag mistake?

I'll tell you what. I noticed it right away and, if I was the parent of one of those cheerleaders, I would be looking for Hansen's head on a platter because that picture was pure tastless class of the Rag.

And then to top the picture, you look at the caption at it reads "Mat Moxie on display". How can an editor of a major paper(worthless one at that) let that picture and caption be on the front page of the paper. No class and I got to say Marty was totally right on this one.

Are you kidding me?? There is nothing wrong with that picture, you making a huge deal out of that? Its an "action" shot, and all they are doing is reacting to a take down (which it was). If you don't understand wrestling, and are a downright pervert, I guess I could see where you would find that picture controversial!

    Re: Another DM Rag mistake?

It is a truly hilarious picture if viewed in a certain way. The cheerleader's expressions while eyeing you know what are perfect, if viewed in a certain way.

Cyclonesrule91, Hansen has no role in running that pic. He's a metro section columnist. He had the stones to show up on that show to defend his employer.

Also, the caption reads "Mat Moxy on display," big difference from what you say it reads.

Ya, I saw I screwed up the quote and fixed it. Thanks for letting me know.

I do agree that Hansen had major jewels to appear on the show, especially knowing how Marty will treat you(and he didn't let us down once again). I thought the way they were talking, that he was now the editor or whatever you call him. I did think Marty had a good point, although he did take it way to far.

Chuckd....I do understand wrestling and am definitely not a pervert, but you can't tell me those expressions on those girls faces is because of the move put on the wrestler. I am also not saying that is what they were reacting to. I thought it was poor class on the Rag's part to post that picture on the front page with a caption like they put knowing it would get the reaction it got. I work in a professional business setting and I heard quite a few comments about about the picture and their expressions and comments questioning if there was a wardrobe malfunction(PC) that caused those expressions. And these discussions were happening way before Marty took it to the extreme. Bad decision on part of the Rag is all I am saying

I disagree, The cheerleaders are very close to the mats, and all that probably happened was there was a take down that went down right in front of them. If the first thing that came into your head after seeing that picture was his nuts were hanging out, then yeah, I would say you have a one track mind. Singlets nowadays go half way down your thighs, making it pretty much impossible for a "wardrobe malfunction".

When i first saw the picture, I figured it was a reaction due to a take down. After conferring with my roommate who attended Saydel, and was at the match, I found out that I figured right!

BTW, how does the fact that you work in a "professional" business setting carry any merit in your argument?

The only reason I brought up the business setting was to point out that it was the topic of discussion today after seeing the paper to counter your point that only perverts would have seen the picture as sexual.

I don't know if I would have noticed it right away since I saw it after walking into a conversation some people were having about the picture so I noticed it right away only because they gave me a good idea on what I was looking at. That don't make me a pervert though..

    Re: Another DM Rag mistake?

Yes there can by perverts in "professional" jobs, but the group I walked into was not. I am not. I heard quite a few comments today from the office, stores I was in and friends of mine who are here for the wrestling meet who bought the paper. Were any of these conversations started by sicko's??? Maybe, but not all of them is all I am trying to say. No offense to anybody

Again, singlets nowadays go half way down your thighs, making it pretty much impossible for a "wardrobe malfunction". Enough said.
