    ACC

What is with the ACC football scheduling?

Miami opens the season with a tough road game against FSU. Then, they turn around and play conference champion Georgia Tech. Very impressive win last night.

Then they have a huge game coming up against Va Tech next week.

Three conference games against 3 huge opponents to START the season?? Who comes up with this kind of scheduling?

LOL, then they start their non-conference season against Oklahoma the week after. Tough, tough schedule.

Yeah very tough opening schedule. With Bradford out, Miami has a slight chance at starting 4-0. If they do that, they should be ranked in the top 5 based on who they have played/beaten

    Re: ACC

That's a heck of a way to make some waves right away if you're not a perennial top 5 squad like USC, tOSU or Florida. Miami has been there, but it's several years.

I don't know how long ago that schedule was drawn up, but that would have been just as tough a draw 3-4 seasons ago as it is now. Looks like the ACC either wanted to bury them, or push them back into the top 10. Adding OU to what was already a tough draw was a gutsy move.

    Re: ACC

Florida State and Miami schedule that game there because of money the ACC doesn't do that those schools do it because ESPN offered a lot of money to do it. If Miami beats Va Tech nxt week and OU then their only game that should give them a challenge would be North Carolina and former coach Butch Davis otherwise they should be unbeaten heading into the Conference championship game. The Pac 10 is also scheduling conference games early in the year as Stanford beat Washington St. in week 1 and USC hosts Washington this weekend

    Re: ACC

There's a lot better chance of a conference game getting national TV in weeks 1-4, when compared to games against Directional Tech.

The ACC, SEC and Pac-10 get that. Even the Big East started the season with a league game.

    Re: ACC

Remember, this is the ACC we are talking about here. When they made that schedule, they figured all the conference games would be easier than the non-conference games.

    Re: ACC

Miami is extremely fast and strong on defense. They match up well with just about anyone. If their offense can score points... they will be a very tough football team. Randy Shannon is building something there. Very good hire for Miami.

Now that MBB is back, do we still have to pretend that WBB matters?
