    Darius Darks

This is the weekend he finally is feeling much more healthy and breaks out in a big way.

Finally having him healthy will really help this passing game.

6 catches for 76 yards and 1 TD.

Didn't Rhoades come out and say that Darks and another receiver needed to flat out score points? Or something along those lines?

Right now I blame AA for not progressing through his reads. It is obvious he looks at Money and Hamilton as his main 2 options. I think Sed is 3/4 with the TE and Darks is 5th. Might even be lower behind ARob.

Unless plays are specifically scripted for those two, I don't see either getting alot of receptions at this point.

Yes, Darks and SedJ need to flat out score points. But Arnaud also needs to put catchable balls in in their hands in order to do so. The sooner Arnaud shakes off the rust, the sooner we can start holding these two to that standard.

    Re: Darius Darks

In Herman's system at Rice, Chase Clement had 16 picks in his first season and lost to Nicholls State en route to going 3-9. He picked up his production after a few games and was on a roll during conference play. I expect the same thing to happen with Arnaud. Darks and Johnson will still have a solid year when it is all said and done...

Agree. AA has been poor. Time to suck it up and play well on the road this week....get the season going AA.

    Re: Darius Darks

We heard SJ and Darks were healthy for last weekend. And what did they do? Zero catches. I'll believe those two will play and be productive when I see it. It wouldn't surprise me to see Zitek and Williams have more catches than either of them at the end of the season. And that's not because those two former walk-ons are that good.

    Re: Darius Darks

The one thing about Williams is he runs the best routes on the team. That is huge in a system like this.

AA has been poor but so have the WR's. They couldn't even get open against the Bison.

I know! LOL I was just saying that in a timing system like this it is really important that the QB can trust that the WR will be at the precise spot when he throws the ball.

    Re: Darius Darks

Since these guys have been hurt they haven't had that much practice time with Arnaud. He's favoring the receivers he's most comfortable with which is natural. Darks has missed a lot of time this spring and fall so it's going to take some time for that connection to get going.
