    One More home game

So far there have been 197954 tickets sold to ISU basketball games this year, and that ends up an average of 12373 per game. That would be good enough for #24 in the nation last year, and my goal coming into this season was to make it into the top 25 nationally for attendance in a huge rebuilding year. Let's fill up that last game against Bob Knight and end strong. It's been a rough year sometimes but I still feel like they have somewhat performed over their expectations.

Good job to the team, the coaches, and the marketing department. ;)

How do we compare in the Big 12? Typically we are in the top 3 with KU being #1 about every year.

Wow, I've always been impressed with the turnout for all of the home games in Hilton, but to be in the top 25 attendance-wise in a rebuilding year shows great character from an outstanding group of Cyclone supporters.

Tickets sold and butts in seats are two different things. However, I won't complain about selling tix. The crowd in the building is a great thing but the money is the key.

Last time Tech was here, the place was packed. And I think at that time our conference record wasn't all that great.

That game against them 2 years ago was awesome. Went down by around 20 early and stormed back with Homan leading the way.

That Tech game was amazing! The atmosphere immediately went from zero to 60 as soon as we started mounting that comeback. I was in the other student section down close to Bob Knight, so it was exciting to see his trademark anger up close.

Bryce, do you have a link for the attendance standings nation wide?

I wish I did, I actually got those numbers by adding up the attendance from all of our box scores this year. The NCAA releases nationwide attendance figures once they have all been compiled at the end of the year, along with several other year-end stats.

Last night there was probably only around 6-7k in the stands (very pathetic showing, especially by the students), even though paid attendance showed 11860.

    Re: One More home game

I want to say something else, although I'm probably going to get called somebody who is too obsessed with Iowa: Even if Iowa sells out their last game and nobody else buys tickets (counting the around 10000 season ticket holders we have) ISU will outdraw Iowa on the season. If we draw 10000 for the last game (which is unlikely, I think we'll draw more than that) we'll average 12,233 fans per game. If Iowa sells out their last game, they will average 12,197 fans per game.

Normally, I wouldn't think this was that important. But I seriously think this has NEVER happened before, at least in the history of Carver and Hilton. If it has please let me know. Either way, it's a nice feather in the cap for Jamie and all those Hawk fans who say we can't sell tickets without them.

TAMU is probably up this year since they're getting big wins.

I didn't want to sit in the student section balcony so I ended up getting a much better seat in section 213. To anyone who would like to sit in the student section in the balcony, its up for grabs, I have never seen anybody have their ID checked and there are always 3 or 4 senior citizens who are adventageous about the roomier and optically improved seating.

I would guesstimate 9000 in the stands at the CU game.
