    Favorite online retailer?

I'm a big fan of NewEgg but I have to say my favorite by far is monoprice.com.

Yesterday, I was moving my office around and figured out that I needed a longer HDMI/DVI cable for my monitor. I went and looked at radio shack and they only had one and it was the exact same length (6ft) and it was $55. My reaction to the sales guy was "my god that's a ripoff". His response was "Yeah those wires that broadcast high def are expensive but important". I walked out and was thinking of going to best buy but I figured it would probably be even worse there. Went home and ordered an 8 foot cable for $12 from monoprice.

I refuse to remember a time before Ebay or deepdiscount.com!

BTW-The $12 included tax and shipping. The monoprice wire was actually thicker 24 gauge compared to 30 gauge. They both had gold plated connections. The radio shack ones did come in a pretty package though.

I am amazed that retailers like Radio Shack stay in business. Who goes there? A buddy of mine works at one and repairs VCRs...as if people still use them. :)

When you have to change your name to "the shack" after decades with the same name, things are probably about ready to fall apart.

I still really like Amazon. As a 'Prime' member, I never pay for 2 day shipping or taxes.

Bike Nashbar is my favorite online retailer. They are my favorite because I love shopping for bicycle equipment.

I've thought about joining this but I don't think I'd get enough use to justify the $80/year. I may have to look back at my transactions.

I've loved it when I've had the free trial. One thing to consider is that you can share it with (I think) up to 4 family members, so if you can find others to share it, everyone can chip in and reduce your cost.

Shoes, Clothing, Handbags, Sunglasses | Zappos.com Free Shipping Free next day shipping. I once ordered a pair of shoes @ 7pm and was wearing them before noon the next day. Best part is it's free next day shipping both ways... if you don't like them send them back free try a new size or try a new shoe. They'll ship the new one out next day... free. GREAT COMPANY.

Now that MBB is back, do we still have to pretend that WBB matters?

Old people in small town that don't know any better. You know, they have that scared look on their face when they walk into a store like that.

    Re: Favorite online retailer?

I've bought a few things from buy.com and found it to be pretty competitive.

For computer hardware I like pricewatch.com. Just have to make sure you check out the ratings on the vendors there before you buy from one that has a great deal but I have not had 1 bad deal from a purchase there yet.
