If we didn't know it before we know it now.

It's not about the schemes, it's about your players and how well they do what they are taught to do. Yes, we spread the Hawks out and ran this great offense we've heard so much about at them. A lot of good that did us. It's not what you do, it's how you do it.

I personally don't see a difference in our offensive schemes...

What I have seen is an ability to run the ball. Outside of that, it looks to me like McFarland could be a Mensa member.

As much as you want to talk about schemes you can have a great scheme but if you don't have the players to execute it then it doesn't do you any good. Give Rhoads time to get his players to fit his scheme.

So you are saying our players suck? Nice.

No, you said our players suck. What he said was that our players didn't execute as well as they needed to. If you watched the same game I did, you can't argue with that.

Re: If we didn't know it before we know it now.

I am now wondering how this "scheme" will work in November. The spread works great with teams with a difference-maker quaterback, a line that can protect that quarterback, and superior skill players that can make plays in space. Those wide receiver screens we saw today were evidence that this is not happening. In cold weather it will be worse. Not good. I am going to save this post to tell myself, "I told you so". Why didn't we just run the darn ball about 30% more than we did? We suck out the energy is this losing tailspin and then it affects recruiting which affects the players we can get which causes us to lose more which affects recruiting....etc.... Those Iowa defensive players were not better than ours today--with exception of Banks weak link-- they are just coached better, apparently.

Re: If we didn't know it before we know it now.

I thought A-Rob had a great game and Arnaud didn't look that comfortable. Were the Hawks an easy win? Evidently not. But at least we can learn from this and hopefully take on Army and Kent St. The one game that is marked on my calendar is Colorado - win that game and we accomplish more than our old head coach could do. Go Clones!

You've got Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds playing in the background, don't you?

I'll say something about our players - the talent just is not there when compared to most other teams.

I don't understand why its a bad thing to say that we don't have superior talent on this team.

Re: If we didn't know it before we know it now.

We made the mistakes in our home stadium, they did not. We have lost all momentum for the season. We cannot get the ball up field like most teams. Darius needs to run vertical and not horizontal. We need to pay the refs when they get off the hawk bus next time.

CFH HMagic bball season next year.
Let my Fred's Four Horsemen ride: Georges, Hogue, Nader, and McKay.

Were we watching the same game? A-Rob was averaging 5 yards a carry and we still have 10 games left to play, including one against K. St. and one against Colorado if there was a time to be a Cyclone fan this is the year!

Today we were smaller, slower and physically weaker than the opponent. Not questioning the commitment and effort- that's 110%. But Rhoads will have to upgrade talent level, no doubt.

You're sucking on fresh cut lemons, aren't you?

Actually, playing in the background is the end of Auburn toasting MSU--another example of what a coach can do with better talent.

In other words, I was taking exception to someone saying our players "suck", because they try. That's a derogatory term that's unwarranted. I'll agree completely that the talent just isn't there.

I thought the OL looked good, the defense had a decent game. But hard to overcome penalities, and the terrible play of AA. I don't put this one on overall talent of the teams.
