Per Rhoads Presser: Arnaud Will Start Next Week

Paul Rhoads just said it himself. Austen Arnaud will start at Kent State.

one bad game does not make him a bad QB. he'll learn and grow from this experience.

I don't think there was any doubt about that. I'm not sure if Arnaud is the answer, but he certainly deserves more games.

The question is does Tiller start to get more reps even though AA starts?

Re: Per Rhoads Presser: Arnaud Will Start Next Week

Of course. I agree and would do the same. A bad game is a bad game. If he can put it behind him and perform, he can lead this team effectively. It is important for coach to put him in a good position to do that by showing confidence in him. I totally agree.

Re: Per Rhoads Presser: Arnaud Will Start Next Week

Austin's problem today was between his ears. Iowa schemed to take away what we wanted to do (throw the ball downfield), but Austin tried to do it anyway rather than just taking what Iowa was giving us. Hopefully, he'll learn from it because Kent State will certainly learn from what Iowa did.

    This.

Gotta let the game come to you, can't force it.

Re: Per Rhoads Presser: Arnaud Will Start Next Week

Something has been wrong with the passing attack in the first two games.

Is that "something" badly run routes such that guys are aren't getting open?

Is that "something" poorly designed routes by the coaches?

Is that "something" simply unfamiliarity with a new system?

Is that "something" AA making bad reads, bad decisions, and bad passes?

If the last one, there will come point in the next 4-6 games (perhaps even sooner) where the coaches will decide that it's just not going to happen with AA, and they will move on.

It would be nice to get some feedback from those who have been at the games, where they can see the whole field and get a better feel for what is going on.

They maybe able to do what Iowa did but I don't think Kent St. has the personal that Iowa did

Shouldn't even be a question about it at this point. He does this again, and we have to start wondering, but not after one bad game.

Re: Per Rhoads Presser: Arnaud Will Start Next Week

I need to look at the game again. I have a lot of unanswered question.

Where the heck was Franklin, for one.

Iowa runs crossing routes, why not us? (Maybe I just missed it)

Our receivers are not getting good separation most of the time and AA stares guys down.

Exactly. I was asking myself all of these questions in the third quarter today.
