    Lincoln, Nebraska

I may be moving there in a month or so (from hawkville to huskerville ). Can I twist anyone's ear to get some info about the town, schools, places to live, etc?

I live in Omaha and know nothing about Lincoln but I can tell you this, if you don't hate the Huskers now, you will shortly.

Shoot me a PM with whatever questions you have - my wife was a State Trooper there from 2001 - 2003 and her entire family still lives in and around Lincoln.

You need to buy 10 Big XII school flags. I assume as a good Cyclone living in Iowa City you already own an ISU one. Make sure you fly them on Saturdays whenever they play Nebraska.

They Big XII flags will be easier to find than the Missouri Valley school flags you'll have to buy for Basketball season.

Of course I own an ISU flag. Unfortunatly, I lost the tent (and the rented house) in last year's flood.

Pic is from the ISU/iowa game in 2007 (wife was 8.5 months preggers).

Chris? LOL He's not my mayor as I don't actually live in the City, but I used to work with him and his office. Do you work with Rick Hoppe then too?

I've lived in Omaha for 5 years and don't notice the Husker fans anymore. I am sure if you lived with a plethora of Hawkeye fans, you have developed the same tolerance. It is honestly not that bad. Some things you will notice are that people in Nebraska are Husker fans by default. God forbid any of them think for themselves and be original. And that people will talk a lot of trash when you yourself know more about the Huskers than they do.

It's no worse than living in Big Ten country (which I have also done)

I lived in Lincoln for 10 years before I moved to Des Moines. Are you looking to buy or rent? What type of food do you like? What type of bar or evening entertainment do you like?

You will definitely get barraged with Husker talk. Do not listen to 1480 for the local radio shows. They are terrible. 1620 out of Omaha has a good local show from 2 or 3 until 6. They obvioulsy talk a lot of Husker football, but they aren't complete homers.

I have a friend/coworker who moved to Des Moines from Lincoln last year. He is still in the process of trying to sell his house, maybe you should give it a look you might get a good deal

He says the schools in the neighborhood are terrific!
