Well if Cody Hawkins didn't have to do everything himself, and Cody had better players like himself around him they'd be better. I mean, he's like a very cerebral quarterback...

Didn't you just pick them to surprise some people in a piece late last week? Some more crow to wash your Baylor crow down with!

I say this in jest because picking records before the season begins has a success rate on par with throwing darts at a list on the wall, and you have to go out on a limb once in a while, right?

That would be correct sir. It's not an easy thing to do. I do have to admit that I really was high on the Buffs though. That wasn't something to get people riled up. It got people riled up though, and the people were right.

Re: A Good Read on Colorado

Buff nation, based on listening to the local radio, is upset they have the #1 high school recruit from 2 years ago (D. Scott) and he got one carry vs. the Rams.

Although it doesn't reflect well having the Big12 go 0-2 vs. the MWC this past weekend, I was rooting for fellow land-grant uni CSU... talk about a mirror image of the ISU-UI rivalry.

I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around the banks will deprive the people of all property until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered.

With my luck, the fact that I pointed that out might be enough to assure them an undefeated season from here on out.

Re: A Good Read on Colorado

I'm not surprised CU's defense struggled against CSU. What surprised me is that their OL couldn't hold up against a Mountain West front seven with only two returning starters from last year. They should have been able to dominate up front allowing big days for Rodney Stewart and Darrell Scott. Instead they had pathetic rushing totals. Cody Hawkins isn't going to beat anybody by himself, so CU needs to have a strong running game, and so far things aren't looking good for the Buffs in that department.

I thought the Buffs had a chance to be up there with Kansas, Nebraska, and Missouri, but it looks like they're going to finish in the second level with Iowa State and Kansas State. CU beat KSU by 1 last year and ISU by 4 on the last play of the game, and both games were at home. This year they're on the road. Uh-oh.
