IMO, 4+. I could see Bradford trying to push this though in order to show he's tough, but as a QB with NFL aspirations, your throwing shoulder is nothing to mess around with.

I'll be shocked if he is playing against Texas. I think it will be closer to 6 weeks.

Re: ESPN Reports that Bradford WON'T Have Surgery

I'm sure it's probably damage control from the comments earlier today that it could be season ending. I wouldn't read too much into the suggestion of 2-4 weeks if it's really as bad as some reports have stated. 4-8 weeks would be my guess.

I had a 3rd degree AC sprain a few years ago, where my collarbone completely separated from my shoulder blade. Had surgery within a few days and would say I was about 100% in 2-3 months.

But were you slinging footballs and taking additional hits?

A guy I know on the OU training team said it looks like he's out for the year. Thats what he said.

It wouldn't surprise me. The coaching staff has made it clear that they are focused on the long term, rather hurrying to get him back to the field. His future in the NFL is a lot more important than this season.

I once had a grade 3 AC sprain and was back the next day throwing the shot put... yeah, I know. I'm fairly tough.

Is it possible that they would look for a medical hardship redshirt for him this year (not sure if he's a jr or a sr now )

I'm sure they could go that route. But considering Bradford just blew out his AC joint - an injury that likely won't impact his career - the first game of the season after deciding to blow of the NFL dollars for one more year in college, do you really think he's going to risk that big payday again by sustaining an injury that likely could end his career? I don't blame him for coming back for his senior season, but if I were in his position, and I just sustained this injury, I'd be saying "hasta la vista college ball".

No sense in rushing back and doing further damage. Either sit out the year, rehab it like hell, and go wow the scouts at your pro day...or sit out, get a medical redshirt, and come back and wow scouts during next season. No sense in rushing back at this point...especially if they manage to lose again in the next month or so.
