    Cyclones of the Week

I might be a little bit late in posting this but every week this year, I want all of us Fanatics to vote on our Cyclones of the Week, one on offense and one on defense.

Please place your votes here and reasons why you went that direction. I'll tally everything up and post results sometime tomorrow.

My votes go towards Marquis Hamilton and Jesse Smith. Neither are the flashiest players on the football field. Hamilton showed me a lot with his two touchdown receptions and the 15 tackles by Smith anchored the Cyclone D.

Tom Herman for being an absolute genius, and Jesse Smith for the same reasons you said

    The fans.

After decades of hope and failure, hope and failure, hope and failure, etc.... the fans continue to get excited and show up in droves even in the middle of a major recession and another coaching change. No other fan base in the country has that kind of loyalty behind it year after year after decade after decade.

A program isn't built on one player and it doesn't succeed because of one player, thus a program won't fail if it doesn't get that one player.

Sometimes it is the people who no one imagines anything of who do the things that no one can imagine.

    Re: Cyclones of the Week

marquis should have caught that TD pass from reynolds. Otherwise he had a great game. Jesse Smith and Mahoney did their jobs to a tee. Sims and Lenz were both pleasant surprises, but Arnaud underperformed. I thought the O line did well also.

    My votes:

    Offense: Hamilton
    Defense: Sims
    ST: Mahoney

I don't know the key to success, but the key to failure is trying to please everyone.

    Re: Cyclones of the Week

Gotta be Coach Rhoads. Took the program off 10 straight losses... came out, got the first W. Changed the supporters attitude, proven by the turnout on Thursday.

    Re: Cyclones of the Week

    Offense: Hamilton
Defense: Even split between Sims/Jesse Smith (both were everywhere on the field, to split them up would be wrong)

Now that MBB is back, do we still have to pretend that WBB matters?

    Re: Cyclones of the Week

IMO, the offensive line was close to getting a nomination from me. The initial push blew NDSU off the line, very little penetration. But sustaining it and keeping the holes open was not consistent.

I look forward to that group being the "player of the week", because that is when we will really be winning games.

    O - Hamilton
    D- Sims
