    What's on the Grill Today?

Labor day grilling, what is everyone doing? I'm putting beer can chicken on the smoker this afternoon. Probably some home made steak fries to go with it, trying to make some home made jalepeno poppers as well with the fresh jalepenos I have ready in the garden. May mix in some other side or veggie in there somewhere too, who knows. Sad to see the 5 day weekend coming to an end...

Re: What's on the Grill Today?

Smoking a pork butt that was marinated in mojo. after about 5 hours, I'll pull it and then makes some nice cubans with it. Just add some good ham and swiss, a little spicy relish and lay it in a toasted onion roll. Makes a great sandwhich. left over pork goes for tacos tomorrow night with black beans and onions

Re: What's on the Grill Today?

I guess I was a day early yesterday. I smoked two whole chickens, with different rubs and 1 homemade breakfast sausage. Will be saving the sausage to take to the tailgate next week for the Iowa State-Iowa game.

Nothing today. Smoked a peach and cherry crunch, made BBQ baens, and smoked an arm roast on Saturday. Smoked a pork butt roast yesterday for pulled pork samiches today.

I was going to do the beer can chickens also, but the wife wanted to make enchiladas. I let her do it, since I'm the one who does all of the cooking around here. Sippin' on a cold one as I watch her cook. Life is good today!!

    Baking some Tator Tot Cassarole

Not quite the traditional thing to do but my favorite.

A program isn't built on one player and it doesn't succeed because of one player, thus a program won't fail if it doesn't get that one player.

Re: What's on the Grill Today?

I have a pork roast ready to put on the grill. A good, old fashioned Weber charcoal grill that really gives meat the charcoal flavor. It has been a great weekend.
