After a few days reflection, I am relatively happy with our first game. There were some letdowns through the game, such as 3 and outs, but I was most impressed with how well run the coaching staff seems to be, and the lack of penalties shows that there is some discipline there that will go a long way in winning games.

Now if that focus carries on to executing plays more efficiently, I think that will go a long way to building our program. We will always be in the Big 12 where 1/2 the teams will have better talent on paper. The key for ISU is team execution and effective utilization of the talent we do have.

Let's be real here, with an all new coaching staff, all new systems, and all new plays etc., Thursday's game was a positive indicator.
