    Ed Thomas: Fitting Tribute

I thought the moment of silence and picture on the scoreboard before Thursday's NDSU game was appropriate and a well deserved tribute to a man who affected the lives of so many young Iowans.

I agree. It was a very classy idea. Had to take a look at your photo, as I was sitting right under the scoreboard. Wearing the yellow shirt under the B in "The Bus." I believe I was making this tweet on my phone...

Moment of silence beforew kickoff for Ed Thomas. Nice job ISU athletic department

I was happy that almost all the students around me remained silent. It's often very difficult to get that all the inebriated students to get quiet.

I was pretty shocked at that as well.

It was especially touching when the photo faded away and everyone was still looking at the screen in silence. It was just like I felt when I heard the news. I just stood there, looking, and not able to say anything.

    Thanks for starting this thread.
Coach Thomas was a great man and I still get choked up when talking about it.
I played against him back in the day and after my career was over,The Coach was very helpful in my pursuit of a coaching certificate.
I can actually say I may not have gotten it without Coach Thomas' help.

Excessive intake of alcohol, we all know, kills brain cells, but naturally it attacks the slowest and weakest brain cells first. In this way regular consumption of beer eliminates the weaker brain cells, making the brain a faster and more efficient machine. That's why you always feel smarter after a few beers.
