Big 11 almost had an epicly bad week..

If Iowa lost to UNI, MN lost to Syracuce and OSU lost to Navy along with IL getting pounded by Missouri.............. It looked pretty bad the way it was, but in two weeks no one will even mention any of this.

The Big 12, on the other hand , looked pretty solid, except for OU stubbing it's toes. I wondered if OU hired some of GC's guys when they got called for delay of game on 4th and a foot from the endzone.

I would say it is because of an inexperience qb that the delay of game took place. Probably won't happen when Landry gets some experience. Some people would argue that experience makes no difference.

Coaches can call timeouts too. There is no excuse for letting a game winning opportunity get away like that.

OU simply gave that game away. I know they didn't have Bradshaw or Gresham but they had 1st and goal on the 2 and couldn't get in the endzone. That and Murray fumbling on the 5. They really played the worst game imaginable for them to lose. Way to many penalties

The ACC had the worse week out of any BCS conference.

Re: Big 11 almost had an epicly bad week..

The Big Ten escaped in several games but they look to be as bad as ever. Just wait a couple of weeks for some BCS/BCS matchups:

week 1: Missouri def. Illinois, Minnesota def. Syracuse
week 2: USC at Ohio State, Purdue at Oregon, Iowa at ISU, Notre Dame at Michigan
week 3: Arizona at Iowa, Cal at Minnesota, Michigan State at Notre Dame, Northwestern at Syracuse

Big 10 is going to have several nonconference blowouts, starting with Missouri this week.

Gene Smith, 1993-2000. 7 years, 6 NCAA's, 1 bowl game. Revenue sports postseason participation 50%. Good.
    Bruce Vandevelde, 2000-20005. 5 years, 4 bowl games, 2 NCAA's, 2 NIT's. Postseason participation 80%. Better.
    Jamie Pollard, 2005-. 4 years. 1 bowl game, 0 NCAA's, 0 NIT's. Postseason participation: 13%. The next big step.

My ignore list: splitidentity, tarheelhawk, superdorf, clones_jer. That is all.

I think Terry has been out of eligibility for a good 35 years now.

Yeah, the Big 12 was so much better with K-State struggling against UMASS and ISU having a game with NDSU. I mean, the difference was night and day between the two conferences. That's what I mean.

Would be interested to hear which ones you're predicting will be blowouts.

I'm not normally one to feed the trolls, but really?......
You are looking at games played by the two teams picked to finish 11 and 12 in the Big XII this year and comparing to them to the results of two teams who were expected to compete for the Big 11 crown.
The second biggest story of the weekend was how the big 10 struggled. (OU losing was the biggest, of course) This isn't just something conjured up by a bunch of zealous Cyclone fans.

Yeah, OSU beat a mid-major team, and OU lost to one.

Iowa struggled against UNI, but was picked to finish mid-pack of the Big Ten. KSU was the same in the Big 12.

Not a troll, just pointing out it was the first week of CFB, and both conferences have one loss as of now. Trying to degrade any conference (OK, the ACC may deserve it) is ridiculous at this point. Let's wait until some actual games have been played, shall we?

Whooooaaa Whoooaaa Whooooaaaa... Let's not try to be rational here.

Now that MBB is back, do we still have to pretend that WBB matters?

Show me where K-State was picked to finish middle of the pack B12. I'd love to see it.

I have to agree with this much. If anyone thinks they know how an entire conference is going to perform for the season after one week of games against mostly mediocre competition, they're crazy.
