    Re: Spread next week

    I'd guess around +7.5

Now that MBB is back, do we still have to pretend that WBB matters?

    Re: Spread next week

If anyone has been paying attention for the past decade this is a pick 'em, but if Iowa is favored by more than 3, than apparently Vegas likes losing money.

    Re: Spread next week

I would guess that Iowa will be a double digit favorite.
In the eyes of most, we are still just a team that won 2 games last year, and has a new coaching staff this year.

    Re: Spread next week

It eill still be more than a TD, if it does differ from the original line that was introduced a month ago or so, it would be about 9.5-10.5 Iowa IMO.

    Re: Spread next week

I don't think either team will win my more than 10. Iowa's O isn't good enough to win by 10+ and their D isn't bad enough to lose to us by 10+.

I see this being close either way.

    Ahhh.... likely true.
but the question is about the spread, not the result.

I also chose IA favored by more than six. I can see 10.5 truthfully.

The Vegas lines have nothing to do with what the sportsbooks think they actual outcome of the game will be. The sportsbooks set it where they think it needs to be to get an equal amount of money bet on either side. That way they collect the juice and have no financial gain or loss based on the outcome. If they get a lot of betting on one side of the line, they will move it until it equalizes.

Gene Smith, 1993-2000. 7 years, 6 NCAA's, 1 bowl game. Revenue sports postseason participation 50%. Good.
    Bruce Vandevelde, 2000-20005. 5 years, 4 bowl games, 2 NCAA's, 2 NIT's. Postseason participation 80%. Better.
    Jamie Pollard, 2005-. 4 years. 1 bowl game, 0 NCAA's, 0 NIT's. Postseason participation: 13%. The next big step.

My ignore list: splitidentity, tarheelhawk, superdorf, clones_jer. That is all.

    Re: Spread next week

I think, and hope, Iowa is favored by 10 or so.
I'd p!ss myself with happiness if it went to 10.5 because I know I'd make some serious coin on ISU.

Excessive intake of alcohol, we all know, kills brain cells, but naturally it attacks the slowest and weakest brain cells first. In this way regular consumption of beer eliminates the weaker brain cells, making the brain a faster and more efficient machine. That's why you always feel smarter after a few beers.
